I was jumping the gun last night on wanting Romo in there because of the heat of the moment... but if Dak has another bad game next week against the Bucs then I seriously think we should play Tony the rest of the way, into the postseason.

Exactly, if Barry Church doesn't miss a tackle that play is 6 yards instead of 60.
There was another drive in the second half when EE broke a run down to the NY 30 but it was called back on a holding against TWill.....every time we did something good we did something stupid

The hold on Beasley's punt return was a killer.......sack and non-run by Free cost us a FG

It was a hard game to watch but even harder to play

I'm not in the camp...yet..of putting Romo in there.

But two facts of note:
1) In the last 50 games Romo has started, Dallas has never scored as few as 7 points. 50 in a row. With some absolutely putrid olines back in 2010-2012...
2) Dallas has won 5 in a row (and 6 of 7) vs NY with Romo...but have lost 3 in a row without him starting.

Just trivia only, but notable.

so the same coaching excuses dont apply to Romo? if anything we had less experienced version of Garrett leading the way with Romo the previous season.

They do apply to Romo. I never said they didn't.

The Magic Number is still 2

any combination of 2 wins by Dallas or losses by NYG gives them HFA
New York's magic number got a lot more attainable after last night. We let an opportunity and a great defensive effort get wasted last night.

How about Church dropping a cake interception int the red zone? That didn't help us either.

Of course it did.....it would have been 0

Are you afraid we won't win again and NY will never lose???? That's seems irrational

That's exactly the kind of teams you play in the playoffs.

Dak was shaky against Washington, poor against Minnesota, and gawd awful last night.

He'd better get it together against Tampa, or it's Romo time. I guarantee you.
Romo would have been on a stretcher last night with that blitz. That's the caveat.

Right, and we won 2 out of 3 of those games on the road and against tough defenses, Now we will be playing at home, let's see how he does there. We are 11-2 on the season for a reason. We beat Tampa and Detroit and we will be playing at home throughout the playoffs. The coaching staff needs to come up with better play calling against teams he stack the box and blitz non stop. They take plenty of the blame as well.

Prescott 11-2
Romo 16-5

Records aren't the deciding factor in this.

Maybe.

If not, then there's nothing to even consider. Romo is a vastly more polished QB than Dak Prescott right now. It's not even close.

What you said sounds like the story every week for every team who lost a game. Many coaches have been fired while crying that we just didn't execute. It's minimizing the realities by holding on to hope that we were just a missed FG away.

Now I'm not chicken Little here. But the coaches do need to figure this out. It's not just Dak vs Romo because I remember all to well how team have been able to shut us down with Romo in the game using this same style of defense. It's seriously a problem going back before Dak.

Our offensive coaches have never shown the ability to gameplay and play call us out of this problem. Romo used to extend plays trying to wait for late developing plays to work. Is our WR problem coming back again? Not Dez but not having guys that can beat a single coverage? Is Dak playing like a bus driver? For the first time he looked like Romo when Tony would throw bad passes into coverage.

I'm convinced it's a combination that deserves more attention than just saying we were close but just didn't execute. It wasn't just 1 game. It's been several.
this, good post

How does playing Romo ensure success moving forward? He's never advanced past the divisional round? My biggest issue with all these pro Romo threads coming out is why didn't you make this request earlier. Dak loses his first game in 3 months and we now want to yank him. Adversity is part of the process. Who knows if we win 11 straight had it not been for the first Giants loss. EVERY TEAM has challenged Dak the same way. It's all about matchups/personel and sometimes just execution and how the ball is bouncing on a particular night.
You haven't been paying attention. A lot of people have come out and said they think you need #9 to go all the way.

Agree. But how many games does he have in him? If Dak plays like this next week against Tampa, Romo will be the starter. Win out, get the ring, kiss the girl and retire to Disney world

I'm for whatever gives us the best chance at a title now.

Dak is a well-adjusted big boy. He's got his NFL life ahead of him. I'm not worried about him in the least.

But he'd better figure it out quick, or Romo needs to take over.

The original post was very fair, and I agree with it. We have to get this offensive crash and burn figured out. The offensive play calling of running Zeke
Of course it did.....it would have been 0

No. I'm not afraid of that. It's not irrational though the way we are currently playing.

I think we still have the best chance of getting home field advantage, but quite honestly the way we are playing of late indicates we shouldn't be surprised if we get an early exit from the playoffs.

@erod, I didn't realize how much you liked my QB until now. Just because of that, I am willing to grab you a Romo jersey and matching hat for the club he lands on in 2017. Just get me the jersey and hat size and I'll get it when I get mine. I just hope the Jones family doesn't further throw salt in the wound and ship him to some non-contender. If Palmer retires or is released, gimme Arizona, gimme Denver or Houston. Those unis work for you buddy?

Then we were never that good.......nothing is handed to you....we are still the best team in the NFC

We simply have to man up and prove it

There is nothing to figure out.......we didn't execute......too many missed passes, dropped passes, bad reads/pickups and penalties

We also dropped/missed 3 INTs, 2 fumbles and let OBJ do the one thing we couldn't let him do....go 60+ yards on a slant

All that and we missed a tie by 1 yard on Bailey's FG

I feel like this is an incredibly overly optimistic post.

We have some major issues to fix. Three consecutive weeks that our offense has left a lot to be desired. As the season wears on, teams evolve. We're seeing a disturbing trend lately, and our offense needs to pick it up quite a bit as of late.
