He needs to play more physical. His tackling reminds me of Mo.

Up to date...he's been a little disappointing. But yesterday...I thought he turned a corner. Played his best game to date. FS is his best spot. Cowboys just need to pick a position regardless....and let him settle in.

First, I think this guy has had a pretty solid rookie season to date. Hasn't turned in the picks but coverage wise he's been almost everything you could ask for, and he hasn't found himself on the wrong end of too many plays. To me he doesn't look very fast on the field but he's not getting torched either.

The question I have is, does he project as a safety or corner in the future? Also I'd like to know how everyone feels about his play 6 games into the season.

He has been terrific. He is very fast so I'm not sure where "he doesn't look fast comes from".

He is exacty what the Cowboys needed. A guy that can play FS with CB coverage skills ot a big CB with speed.

I didn't say he wasn't fast I said he doesn't look fast. That comes from watching the games, he doesn't really look as explosive an athlete as some of his measurables would make you believe.

He has somewhat long legs which means he takes less steps in 10 yards than guys with shorter legs. Guys with shorter legs look fast because they have to move their legs faster to cover the same distance.

I think the sky is the limit with him. He looks like he's going to be an important part of the defense for years to come.

BB mentioned this in his 12 thoughts today.

11) Starting to notice more of Byron Jones at safety with Barry Church playing down in the box. Jones is a much better cover player than J.J. Wilcox and this is likely the coaches way of getting more guys on the field that can handle those responsibilities. We saw the switch with Collins to guard. I believe we are right around the corner of Jones playing full time.

People always said that about Claiborne as well and that he shouldn't have been picked that high because of lack of speed. I think people expect to see Deion.

He's supposedly very smart as well as being an amazing athlete. Sounds like a perfect safety, ala Darren woodson.

I'd like to see him and MO as our starting two CBs. Carr needs to be bumped down the depth chart at this point. If we're going to ask our corners to trail on routes then put your faster CBs out there. Carr's receivers get separation too often from him since he doesn't have the top end speed to go stride for stride.

Disappointing? The kid basically shut down Gronk until the second half of the Patriots game.

Shut down Zach Ertz in Week 2.

He's been one of the most consistent players on the defense.

I'd like to see Mo and Scandrick next year with Jones at FS and Church at SS and White/Patmon in the slot. I wasn't big on Jones playing FS but it's growing on me

Did you not see him shut Gronk down 2 weeks ago? He's been solid and he keeps getting better.

He played well but to say he "shutdown" Gronk is inaccurate.

Gronk caught 4 passes on 5 targets for 67 yards.

For his career, Gronk averages 4.8 reception and 69 yards per game.

The more accurate description is that Jones prevented Gronk from going Gronk and taking over the game. Major feather in Jones cap as far as I am concerned, however, I felt it necessary to point out he didn't shutdown Gronk.

Who knows what that guy is thinking other than how to get out of his parents Philadelphia basement.
Jones has been very solid.

He should have tackled Harris on the kickoff return. His tackling has been really poor so far.
