Just rewatching some tape on him and I gotta say my opinion has definitely changed...what's everybody's problem with him again? Fast, good size, well coached, reads the QB's eyes well, experienced in deep zone, can cover 1 on 1 when need be....going on record now that I would have no problem with him at #16. Certainly not my #1 target or anything, but he's a good football player that would definitely help our team.

I have him as the best free safety by far in the draft. Give me Jason Verrett as a corner

Nothing wrong with him ... i personally would like to draft defensive front 7 with the #16 pick. Overall i think we should stack both the offensive line and defensive front 7. And he wont last until the 2nd round.

Yeah I'm with ya, like I said not my #1 choice, but I can see us passing on DT after the Melton signing and Rod believing he doesn't need high resources spent on a 1 tech. Are there a ton of other options at #16 if you eliminate DT's? IF he's even available HaHa could easily be BPA.

Yea ... but you know how hard it is to find good pass rushers in the 4-3 ... you are constantly looking for them. Go get a pass rusher at 16.

We shouldn't always take Broaddus' word as gospel.

I would love to draft Clinton Dix. Best S in the draft.

I believe he's the best safety in this draft as well. I've seen this kid play on Saturdays for awhile now and believe you me. This kid is the real deal, Ball Hawk + Closing Speed + Not afraid to hit = Clinton Dix

This kid was the number 1 player in Florida coming out of highschool for a reason.

I understand that the Cowboys have glaring needs at other positions and don't want to give up on Wilcox & Church as of now, but I sure as heck wouldn't be mad if Cowboys pulled the Trigger on Clinton Dix either.

Clinton Dix & Church would make an All Pro back field

Problem is unless something wacky happens and a kid like Mack falls to us or Barr and you think they can be 4-3 DEs, there doesn't appear to be a sure fire pass rusher to take at 16........ Ford and Ealy seem overvalued at that pick IMO.

It's really hard to evaluate college safeties because the talented ones almost always play in the box. Dix did play as a rover some but they had him close to the line of scrimmage an awful lot. He's a very smooth athlete, great feet and hips with decent straight line speed. Will lay the wood when he has an easy hit but he is not a very physical guy. I just don't know what to make of the guy to be honest.

if they take a safety then all of the following likely occurred:

1. no good DL remain (worthy of a pick that high)
2. no good OL remain
3. no good LB remain
4. no trade partner to move down

1. no good DL remain (worthy of a pick that high)- Its very possible that 3 tech is no longer a target with Melton. Not saying definite or that I agree, but its definitely possible
2. no good OL remain- Jerry has his starting 5 and isn't going 1st round o line in back to back years. He's already quoted saying you can't invest too many resources in 1 spot when talking about drafting o line.
3. no good LB remain- If you believe the Mosley rumors there are none worthy of the 16th pick
4. no trade partner to move down- In 1 of the deepest drafts in a decade not finding a team to surrender picks isn't that unlikely

Clinton-Dix is a better fit for this team than Pryor. There, I said it. I usually agree with Broaddus on many things, but I just don't understand his view that 1) we have similar players to HHCD on the roster, and 2) he's more of a SS while Pryor is a FS. Just wholeheartedly disagree.

This board somehow went on a huge Ha Ha smear campaign about 6 weeks ago, and it's sort of been the "group think", prevailing opinion ever since, as far as I can tell. The reality is that there are many that view him as superior to Vaccaro and Barron as a true centerfielder type FS, and I don't expect him to even be available at #16.

With Melton on board, we're still deficient on the DL, and I do strongly believe that the DL must be restored to health for us to be a successful defense... that said I wouldn't at all be crushed if Ha Ha were the pick.

Good post. Not even gonna lie, I fell right into that flock not liking HaHa. But after revisiting his tape this morning hes definitely impressive and I was way off. Everything I saw was a very good ball hawk safety.

Not to mention how fast he comes up to tackle, and the impact he leaves when he gets there.

I think Hasean (I just can't call him HaHa) should be one of our top targets--along with Donald and Barr. I hope we don't just pray that Wilcox can be the answer at S--he's as much of a long shot as Johnson, IMO.
