Lets talk about the CB position

Better health, a nominal increase to the pass rush, and Caleb Downs’ brains should help the secondary.

Cb room isn’t that great, but it doesn’t need to be if the front 7 perform and we have good talent at safety
I think the cornerback room is solid, we have four strong safeties. We took a corner from the Cardinals also. Plus, we have three of our own.

With drafting Devin Moore in the 4th rounder.

If Revel can take a giant step forward. And Moore learns a year behind bland/durant (Durant is on a 1 year deal).

Next season could we really have two big corner on the outside.

Revel 6'2 194lbs and Devin Moore 6'3 198lbs.

If Daron Bland doesn't play well this season the cowboys can move him/cut him and save money.

Time will tell. I am rooting for bland.
Leaving out the two veterans that we got from the Rams don't count them out they can take somebody's job next year I mean they were brought in for depth but one of them can play the slot the other one can play outside they did that with purpose that the intentions are they're gonna push these guys they will step up and we will know it by the preseason games if they're not being able to cover those dudes then they're going to have problems in real games..

Yes is a very young room a lot of upside but a lot of question marks they're gonna have to prove themselves all of them bland is the only veteran and he has both feet that just keep seeming the break..

Feel like when a man's feet hurt which by the way I find it ironic I can't remember the story but I think JSN wearing size twelves his whole college career in his first part of his career in Seattle and then when Mcdonald came along I don't know where the staff or who did it but they used some kind of special laser printed footprints right from his feet and they created a shoe for him and it turned out he should be wearing a size 10 in an actual fitted cleat..

So yeah, I think maybe the Cowboys ought to do something like that would Bland get that dude into one of those podiatrist or whatever you call them.. So send them to one of these specialists and have them do the same thing I mean somebody who has constant foot issues maybe that's the problem he needs a special shoe built not just for support but better fit..

There's a lot more bodies competing than people are talking about in here besides the fact that I don't agree with the depth chart here but the two guys we got from the Rams are going to push some of these guys But yes they all have a prove it season coming up and a new defense that they're giving them a fresh start especially Revel getting to go through a full off season and a full training camp and a full preseason is very important for him...

We currently have eight cornerbacks on the roster.
And four safeties
Yes there are plenty crossovers as well guys like Downs We'll play a lot of both nickel corner all over the place on safeties but there's a lot of guys on the team that could do a lot of crossover and flex and that's exactly what they've been doing at all the positions on defense specially you look in the draft a lot of those guys can play inside or outside on the defensive line or outside linebacker or some can even play linebacker I think that's what he's looking for camp will start wedding out the depth charts But preseason these guys are gonna be competing there is not gonna be any of these guys sitting in preseason they're all gonna be fighting for positions this is not one of those things where you never see CD or Dak these guys are gonna have a lot to prove.. I mean most will make the roster some will end up on the practice squad some will end up inactive but that's what has to be done the depth chart will be built between now and September and I think none of these guys should count their starter positions as concrete right now, none of them..

Bell, bland, Reese, derion. Caleb, that alone is pretty solid.

If you look at the current roster chart, I counted eight cornerbacks and four safeties
No, I know we have to get down to a certain number at some point, but that’s what’s on the team right now

I’m not sold on Bland returning back to form personally. Will Revel ascend? What will we get out of Durant? Just a lot of questions out of that group. No concern at safety

Need serious edge pressure(better than what the current roster has) in order for Bland to return to anything resembling his pre injury form. His jumping routes/multiple picks talent was very much dependent on what Micah did at the line of scrimmage.

Not sure me or anyone else has a way to measure Revel just yet. His pre injury in college film showed pretty sticky coverage abilities. His return post surgery last year is an incomplete and still tbd imo.

I would really like Durant full time in the slot but all the mention of Parker using Downs there is the newest narrative I've heard so I don't know.

Moore was way too injured in college to even be drafted imo so I'll leave him alone for now.
Carson, Butler and Steward are depth type guys. One might get cut if they want more numbers at another position.

Bout all I got.

I can’t wait to watch this defense, play under the new coordinator,
I think the only weakness right now on defense is youth

The only issue bland had, was the defensive coordinator

Carson and Steward are 4th and 5th corner depth type guys.

Edge pressure, we solved that with this draft,

Yup.

this is why we needed a corner, instead of Lawrence or Bar.
