Let's Talk About the Eagles

They've got four of the fastest guys in the league on offense. And as much as I dislike Andy Reid and his parenting, he's got a great offensive mind. Their defense can be exploited though, and their inability to run the ball will slow them down when in Dec/Jan.

The Eagles are 3rd in teh NFL in rushing yards and averaging 5.4 yards per carry. Yes, some of that is Vick, but we can't act as if Vick doesn't count. He adds a dimension other teams don't have.

Haha, wait, what?

He's not better than he was before? Not only is he better, he's got way better receivers now.

What does being injured in a freak tackle have to do with how well he was playing? Almost any QB would've been out for a while after that hit. He was sandwiched between two dudes flying full force at him. That'd be like me saying Romo is fragile for breaking his collarbone after being drilled into the ground. Everyone knows that's not the case, it was just the way he was hit.
It's always good to have knowledgeable posters from other teams stop by.

We Will Stop Vick In Both Games, Just Stop The Run And Contain That Guy, He'll Choke Eventually....go Cowboys!!!

I think their game vs. the Giants will show a lot. The Giants will be a little angry from being beaten handily at home and the Eagles will be riding high after the perfect game vs. Washington.

Seems so easy in print.

Desean Jackson. OK.

Maclin, even though he's not THAT FAST

Vick, no where close to the fastest player in the league. He probably runs mid 4.4.s

Who's the other guy?

Avant?

The one huge difference is Vick. The Bucs always had success against Vick with a speedy linebacker (Brooks) as a spy. I'm anxious to see how Garrett/Pasqualoni plan to defend him (Spencer? Butler?)

Vick ran a 4.3 in his prime, I don't know how much of a step he's lost - but he's still hands down the fastest QB in the league.

Jackson ran a 4.33 at the combine and Maclin ran a 4.3 before his injury set him back at the combine. These two are probably the fastest pair of WRs in football.

McCoy is said to have ran a 4.25 before, but only ran a 4.5 at the combine. He's not the fastest in the league at his position, but he's still very quick and can take it the distance.

They're just a very fast team, and I don't know if you're gonna find a team with more straight line speed in the league than them.

We will have our hands full with Philly. It will be hard to stop Vick.

I was talking to theogt, I believe, or was it bbgun? I don't remember... but whoever it was swore Vick wasn't a good quarterback or that he wasn't better than McNabb at this point in his career.

I doubt we'd be saying, "I don't know if we can stop McNabb"--different story for Vick, eh?

We've played Vick before. I think we mostly used D-Ware to spy him when we played him while he was in ATL. All I know is 94 snatched one of his passes out of the air for a pick six. Maybe he'll do it again. :D

Vick has lost maybe half a step, and he is not quite as quick. But he has certainly improved as a passer. Frankly I still think the best thing to do with him is containment; he still is not all that comfortable passing from the pocket.

All we have to do is....Just Dez It. everything else will work out.

Vick is much more elusive than McFlabb folks don't kid yourselves... With a flick of the wrist he can toss the ball deep down the field.

I'm not sure Vick is the same QB, and he definitely has a different supporting cast and coach. I believe he has come a long way in understanding that running isn't his first option, and that he has to try to hang in the pocket and stick with the play as long as he can. Vick is far and away the most athletic QB in football, so if he can really work within the offense rather than abandon it for the run as he did in Atlanta, he can be VERY dangerous. Scary dangerous.
