Let's Talk Giants

We also didn't have Greg Ellis in the line up. We won by ten and the second game we won by eleven.

Good memory I forgot about him.

The Giants are playing well. But let's not put too much on the TB game -- TB is a mediocre team. Any one of the NFC East teams -- Eagles included -- would have won that division easily.

That said, the Giants are dangerous. TB did some good stuff against them today but failed to stop Eli. I know most folks don't want to hear this but we cannot simply go out there and dare the Giants to throw. The Giants did that and Eli was patient and took the short stuff over and over.

IMO the bucs didnt get enough pressure on Eli to get him rattled. Plus the bucs turned the ball over 3 times. None bigger than the fumble on the kickoff at the start of the 3rd quarter.

Our pash rush has gotten better over the past 3 games. 12 sacks and Demarcus has been a beast in the backfield over that stretch. With two weeks of rest we should be fresh up front. Hopefully we can rattle him into some arrogant throws.

Hopefully T.O. will be ready to go. Thats my biggest concern because he is such a vital peice of this offense and it has shown since he went down.

We are healthier with the exception of TO then we have been all season. There are no excuses if we do not win this game.

Manning threw for 185 yards against a crappy offense, that is nothing more than average yet everybody keeps saying how great a performance he put on. That just goes to show how bad he
usually plays!

My fellow Pack fans are saying that the Giants are going to win but I'm trying to keep them realistic. There is no way that the Giants are going to beat the Cowboys whether the Cowboys are coming off bad games and the Giants off great ones.

Tell your Packer friends to stop dreaming....we'll see your Packers in a few weeks.

I don't think the Packers are going to beat Seattle. Seattle's pass rush is going to rip Favre a new one.

:D Heh. The pack are going to look at our *bad* meaningless game against the Skins, and forget all about that whooping they got from Chicago. They'll forget that we dominated Chicago, and they got beat by them twice. Think they better quake in their boots about Seattle before worrying about us.

I mentioned in another thread but I think the main handling the Giants pass rush. There defense centers around their pass rush handle that and the Giants secondary can be beaten. They are not that good.

Yes, I agree the Giants are playing pretty decent ball right now and have developed alot of confidence.

You really have to throw out the Tampa Bay game because despite their lofty Defensive numbers, the Bucs racked up alot of those against a very average NFC South Conference. Also, the Giants were a great matchup for the Bucs because the Giants are great at rushing the passer and the Bucs are not so good at pass protection.

The Giants team is dangerous and should be taken as seriously as you would any other Playoff team.

We really have to come out and put our foot on their throat.

For some reason, whether real or imagined, teams in the Playoffs like the Commanders and Giants seem to feel good about coming to Dallas and if you read into some of their comments, really think they can win here.

We have to put that belief to rest.

I agree that the Giants should be taken as seriously as far as them feeling good about coming to Dallas what do you expect them to say? SD players said they feel good about going to NE. For the Cowboys they just need to go out and focus on the job at hand. We have the talent and frankly we matchup pretty well with the Giants. Their main strenght on defense has been the ability to rush the passer and our Oline has done a very good job in both meeting stopping that pass rush. Gmen love to play the 1 on 1 and I like those matchups and so has Dallas putting up over 30 points in both meetings.

Good point. First two games I thought the OL did a good job protecting Romo.
