I was on board with Luepke at first becauseI thought they were going to use him more like Moose lead blocking, and making catches in the flat. Seems like he's a waste of a roster spot the way he has been used last year, and so far this year.

I think the ship has sailed on Turpin too. He hasn't knocked my socks off with any kick returns in a long time, and he hasn't made a big play on offense since I can remember either.

Patrick Ricard was an eye opener. He was leveling Cowboys at the point of attack.

I know FBs have become passe in the modern game, because you can use an extra WR to remove a defender from the box, instead of having to block that defender in the box. But when you have a FB who can literally throw that defender on his ***, I feel like that equation changes again. Luepke's not that kind of guy.

For a guy who supposedly is versatile enough to run and catch as a bigger RB, the coaches are seemingly afraid to give him the ball. So he's relegated to only blocking which he is not really moving the needle there. If all he's going to do is block, they should have already replaced him.

I never understood why they always love loopke in preseason. They talk about his versatility and then he just doesn't get in the game and contribute much two or three plays. You know for a couple of yards is not enough to get excited about if they're going to have him on the team and they're going to have him make the 53. They have got to use him more as a true fullback and then using more as a as a tight end decoy not just blocking but in routes and if they can't then he doesn't need to be on the team

Well he is freaking 6’3” and weighs 300lbs, was a former DT. Harbaugh ain’t fooling around, he's going for hard nosed football which was well proven last night!

It’s pretty easy to use a FB who’s 6’3” and 300 pounds. That guy helps with DL en and dominates edges and LBs.
