lets talk McQ

so now we are being negative to two players because of handful of pressures.

Columbo didnt have his best day, but it was not as bad as some are making it out to be, but that is always the case.

I dont think mcquistan not playing has one iota to do with pat's abilities, I think it says alot about the trust it has with its starters and columbo.

hoyte got dinged up on the barber 4th down td run. He got attention on the sideline and stayed in the game. These guys play hurt. I dont believe it would have been right to pull columbo.

Look back at the 20 yd TD run by MB III, as they were coming off the field Columbo was noticably limping. Coach needs to sit him until it's better. And as soon as we clinch home field we need to sit Henry too.

This is a serious question.

What has McQ done to make people believe he's ready for a major role? He gets talked up by the coaches, but the coaches talk up everybody.

I'd personally rather see Free or Marten out there in spot play, but what do I know.

Not as much as the coaches, it seems.

:)

It's not a negative towards Colombo that he played... It's definitely a positive. Your linemen obviously have to be tough, and I think we all admire guys who are willing to play through pain.

But it is a tricky question of when a guy who is injured is doing a disservice to the team when he might be playing worse than his backup would. That's when it becomes a coaching call. I think what we don't want to see is another Henry situation from last year.

Personally, I would start Colombo but at least work in McQ at times. Unlike Free and Marten, he's already active on gamedays, so it doesn't cost us a roster spot.

Does anybody here actually remember when Torrin Tucker was our starting RT? Jesus, it's not like Colombo gave up 5 sacks yesterday or something. He didn't exactly go Winston Justice on us. Part of an O-Line being good is the chemistry they develop with each other, and McQ or any other young guy doesn't have that with the rest of our line like Colombo does. He was fine, we won the game.

Our struggles yesterday had a whole lot more to do with our defense staying on the field for 6-8 minutes every drive and giving up points every drive than it did with Colombo not being 100%, I guarantee that.

You don't pull your starting RT after you've decided he's healthy enough to play -- that's a real morale killer to the player. Far better to say to the guy who has had a great season that you trust he can get it worked out.

everyone, know this

Wade likes to start veterans, so I wouldn't look at Colombo starting banged up, as an indication of our young OT's progress, Wade is just treating Colombo like a man here

I think this as well.

Wade probably asked Colombo if he felt good enough to go.

Colombo says yes he is.

Wade says go ahead.

when a player is injured and struggling, and that player is allowing pressure to get to your QB, you either replace him or get him help. Dallas did neither- and that was flat out wrong.
