perhaps the most overrated group in the league. Can't run block at all. Not very good in pass protection either. They made Trent Murphy look like Lawrence Taylor out there.
So what is the problem? Is it really the loss of Callahan? Is it just Free and Collins being so bad it's destroying the whole line? Should a move to green and Leary be in the works?
It's just mind boggling that we aren't better up front

I disagree on the pass protection. I thought the pass pro was very good against the G-Men and for about 3 quarters, really good here.

The outside zone blocking needs work but started to come back to life. The big issues are Free, Witten and Swaim. We really miss Hanna's blocking from 2014. I think they are underperforming, but their standard is quite high. Problem is that Green isn't ready, Witten is well past his prime and Swaim is young and a work in progress.

The run blocking has been inconsistent but the Morris TD run was blocked to perfection.

OL has been underwhelming so far these first two games.
Makes you wonder how much of it was Romo also, or the respect that he gets from the defenses.

Get Zeke and Dak some more experience and when Zeke has those solid games, long runs, and Dak can burn them deep. Then they need to respect those play making abilities, and thongs will loosen up.

Can't say I agree with this assessment at all. I thought pass protect was very good, whereas running blocking can use some work. Overall a fine performance.

I agree. I thought the pass pro was spot on. They look lost run blocking right now though.

You have to add in Wittens drop in blocking. He is constantly getting beat in the run game and when he helps with max protect.

Shhhhh.....No one is allowed to criticize his holiness.

I think it's more of the TE's. It's apparent we are trying to get the outside zone runs going. That's where you can make big runs...if you set the edge consistently it opens up a lot. On inside zone runs we ran it very well. Perhaps Collins is an issue on those outside zone runs, but I'd have to watch All-22 to see.

I thought we would have spent more time exploiting the north south runs up the middle.. Especially after what Pittsburgh did to them last week.

pretty much. they're not infallible, no player or group is. the expectations are just sky high for them (as they should be).

with dak not really testing deep, and zeke looking shaky initially defenses are attacking a little more heavily. for the most part though I've still been impressed, and think the arrows pointing up across the board on offense.

Run blocking wasn't good. 7 ,8 men fronts.. we will beat them sooner or later. Dak has had plenty of time.
