that was against a heavy rush, the skins showed ZERO of that last night. If we dont get pressure on him, he should be able to have a field.

(By the way, I just think how funny it is that we are all trying to prove how our own team is worse than the other, and that they are going to do worse on sunday:laugh1: )

The Jaguars blitzed opportunistically. I haven't watched the game over again, but I think Bledsoe may have been blitzed on the long pass to Glenn. The Jaguars didn't need much blitzing, and got enough pressure with their base package.

The Cowboys o-line is nowhere near that of the Vikings, and Bledsoe is not 100% in sync with TO yet. I think when they do get in sync, teams cannot afford to blitz.

With that being said, I think the best thing for Dallas to do is to use TO as a decoy to keep the Commanders from putting 8 in the box. Dallas will need to run to have any success in this game, as I am not confident that the game can be put in Bledsoe's hands.

the only thing that worries me about Dallas is your home field advantage and Terry Glenn vs. our #2 (and lower) corners

should be another classic, neither team wants to go 0-2

I can't beleive the civility that I'm reading between the skins fans and the boys fans here.
Don't get me wrong ,it's refreshing to see intelligent conversations and disagreements, but surprising.

I'll tell you one thing tho, I won't be a part of it with the Beagles.:iggles:

Home field advantage in Dallas is usually a joke, but I suppose this week may be different.

I think the matchup hinges on Bledsoe's ability to find Glenn and Witten. I think TO will not see many passes his way due to double coverage. Both defensive lines will have their moments, so secondaries are the key.

I kind of feel that Saunders exposed a lot of his gameplan and playbook against the Vikings and the Vikings made good adjustments and Saunders didn't have any answer for that. I also felt that the good news for Skins fans was that early on the schemes and play designs were gaining yardage and points for the Skins. Unfortunately, they needed those schemes and play designs because the execution was rather poor.

I disagree completely on this point. The playcalling as well as formations looked almost as if we didn't have a new guy calling the plays at all. I expected more. The formation that looked new was "trips left", but that was rarely used. I came away from the game thinking Saunders doesn't feel the players are comfortable enough in the offense to really open it up yet.

Saunders offense takes a long time to get. The Chiefs were not very good on offense the first year he was there, and the personel did not change much. His 2nd year is when they started putting up all the points. That said, I don't think the Skins have the players to be anywhere near as good as the Chiefs were, but they should be better next year.

For the Cowboys on Offense:

I would minimize the number pass attempts for Bledsoe down to 20. It sounds low, but I think it is achievable. I would take a page out of Minny's book and pound the ball with JJ and MBIII early in the game, even if we get only 2 yards a carry early on. Minny had bigger holes to run through as the game wore on. TO will have double coverage, likely with Rogers and Taylor covering him. Glenn will be single covered, likely by Mike Rumph. Witten will be matched up against a safety. Proileau is likely out for the season, so the Skins are thin at Safety.

The way I see it, the passing game and TO should only be used to keep the Commanders from putting 8 men in the box. They cannot afford to put 8 men in with both Glenn and TO as wideouts. This should spell success for the running game if the O-line can figure out how to block. TO WILL NOT have a monster day, but Glenn and Witten should see most of the passes coming their way. The key is efficient, time consuming drives that focus on taking advantage of a double-covered TO with the running game. If they single cover TO, and choose to stop the running game, then I would focus on completing short passes to TO. Overall, I see a very conservative game plan that protects Drew Bledsoe and his reportedly ailing back. If any of this works, then Parcells must stick with it until the Commanders prove they can stop it. This regime has a history of moving away from things that work.
I couldn't disagree more. Minnesota almost killed themselves last night by not passing more. They could have and should have passed much more. Even though they won, they got a little lucky due to Washington's stunning innefectiveness in the deep red zone.

I think to win this game, we are going to have to be willing to pass a lot and throw deep. Every time Minny threw deep, it was a big play waiting to happen, and their WRs aren't anywhere near the quality of ours.

Their secondary is a huge glaring weakness, and we can't let Bledsoe's problems last game hamstring us. The guy can throw it long and we're going to need to do that to win!

Yeah...not sure how you could look at that game and say "Wow, Saunders really opened up the playbook." There were no trick plays, very few deep balls, and almost no passes thrown to Cooley. There is still a lot left in that playbook...

Not from me, we will beat that arse bad in BIG D. They can't cover our WR's and they know it. Bledsoe had a bad game but thats not gonna happen 2 games in a row. I look for him to be sharp. They just physically can't cover TO or TG and I'd make archaletta cover somebody. He's terrible! It's not gonna be close gang, we win BIG...

That is because you are on CowboysZone and not Extremeskins.

Wondered that also. Not even in the redzone. He was booked primarily as a blocker when he was even in there. No chip and run, nothing. What was up with that?

Perhaps the Skins players are as dumb as the Skins fans and can't understand the playbook.

We can all say what we want to say and analyze this game to death, but the truth is, when these two teams hit the field on Sunday, all bets are off. Both teams are coming off disappointing season-opening losses and want to show what they are really made of.

I'm with DW, if we want to win this game, attack the skins weakness. The skins secondary is really hurting and couldn't cover the Vikings WR's, so there is no reason why a HEALTHY Bledsoe can't rack up some big plays with TO, Glenn and Witten. Also, the skins DL is pretty weak, especially last week, when it comes to applying pressure by itself. They will blitz and blitz plenty, so we need to make them pay. If we come out doing nothing but run after run, they may just load up for the run and/or send some run blitzes our way, keeping the game 2 close for comfort. IMO, we NEED to attack in the air and jump ahead early. The skins are on a short week, coming off a loss, playing on the road, the Boys really need this win. Not do or die, but to come out 0-2 after all the hype would really hurt the team, planting seeds of doubt for the season. Oh, and cross your fingers that this game doesn't come down to FG's, cause neither team can make them with ease. Heck, we could be facing triple OT if it comes down to the kickers.:laugh2:

Skins are gonna run a lot of zone's out there. (bend but don't break mantality) Only way our defense is going to do anything is if we make Bledsoe make mistakes. Otherwise the passing game is a large miss-match. I expect three-step drops and screens from you Girls to negate any chance of us blitzing. Middle of the field is gonna be wide-open; Witten is gonna rack up yards.

Only way I see my Skins winning is if our zones prevent TO or Glenn from getting behind the defense and we keep it to field goals.

lol, lotta ifs there... :(

thats what i feel is wrong, i think that last week he was still dealing with an unanncounced concusion, so he knows he will have to perform 3x as well as he normally does to shut up some media and fans
