Big shout out to all the fair weathered fans that are back on the scene now. I get a little chuckle when ever I'm on any social media and see "how about them Cowboys" from fans that I know are clueless about the team. When ever I'm discussing the Cowboys with a so called "Cowboys fan", I always ask, "what's our left tackle's name?". And you would be surprised at how many of them have no clue, but can name the superstars. For me, that's where the conversation ends and I just keep it to the basics.

But hey, we love having ya!

The bandwagon is rolling forward and you just know it will get fuller as it goes until/unless the wheels fall off then they will jump ship to the next teams bandwagon. I hate those type of fans personally. I don't always like or agree with the Cowboys upper management decisions or the coaching decisions but I be dam* if I would ever be a fan of another team. I live 50 miles from Boston and with the success of the Patriots it would be easy to convert for some but not for this Cowboys fan.

Everytime I meet a football fan and they tell me they are a fanatic....I always ask them to name me their team's starting OL....most of the time they can't.

"Welcome! You're all idiots, but welcome, just the same because, hey, we love having you!"

Is it me, or did that OP not sound as sincere as maybe it could have. :)

It was a little bit of sincerity and a lot of sarcasm. I somewhat welcome the bandwagon and Fairweather fans, but please stay in your lane! Don't pretend to be a diehard Cowboys fan all along when you are just now starting to root for them again. I feel a lot of us on this message board stuck with this team through thick and thin.

The biggest thing that angers me is when these so-called fans try to argue with me about certain things that they have no idea about.

I'm sure most people on here can attest to hearing these Fairweather fans say "Man, we need to get rid of Romo"!!! My response is always "then what? "And 0% of the time they give me a legit solution!

Anyway, go ahead and dust off your Cowboys jersey… Pretty sure it has collected a lot of dust since 2007

Fandom-peen measuring contests are dumb, if some people like their sports intake casual than so what, let them. You don't win points for knowing the entire depth chart, just makes you seem like an elitist when you brag about it.

As far as I'm concerned the more the merrier when it comes to casuals and bandwagon fans, maybe they will finally not sell their season tickets so we can have home field advantage for a change.

My dad wasn't a very educated football guru and didn't know the entire depth chart, he knew the stars and rooted week in and week out. I don't think knowing the entire starting OL makes you a true fan. Getting your @#!$ up week in and week out win or lose to watch this team play makes you one.

If people decide to come root for us now then go for it, it's their choice.

I like it better.....that all of the haters, trolls [but said they were fans], negative Nancy's, or what ever you want to call them...they are not around as much. Maybe they created a new name to come back as a fan on the wagon, who knows, who cares...:)
But they do throw in a "like" on anything bad that happens or is said.

I'll take the all the new fans on board, as long as they are sincere and stay that way, don't do the sucks this, jj sucks, etc., as soon as some adversity comes along.

My point of asking the left tackle's name question is to see how knowledgeable they are. I'm not saying it in a way to take anything away from any cowboy fan. It's just a quiz that I do so I know how in-depth I can get with the conversations. Why waste my time talking to somebody that's going to have no idea of what I'm saying?!

Exactly. That's how I view it. Bandwagon fans can actually help the team more than we can sitting behind our keyboard complaining about how there are no Cowboys fans in the stadium. If we keep this up, come playoff time the stadium will be packed with Cowboys fans. And if we happen to finish with #1 seed, we'll have two true home games on the way to the Super Bowl.

Now, don't get me wrong, part of me says, "Screw those fans. We've been disrespected by the media and even by our own fans. We won 5 straight on our own without any home field advantage. Give us 10 more road games for all I care." But I'm sure we'd benefit from having fans show up to the games. When the stadium is full of blue, there's no way to tell who's true and who's not, so what's it matter?

These whole "here come the bandwagonners" and "fair weather fans" type posts are really becoming annoying lol. As if you deserve a prize for sticking it out throughout the years. I'm young enough to where I didn't understand football until the Triplets were on their way out and we were out there trotting Troy Hambrick as our franchise running back. But if anyone hopped off the bandwagon.....who really cares? Everyone people to "eat crow". Why? The Cowboys have achieved NOTHING.

You would think we actually won the Super Bowl yesterday with as much crow that needs to be eaten. And I do find it funny how everyone is saying "I Told You So" but in this offseason this site was unbearable to even visit because it was full of nothing bu doom and gloom and "When will Garrett be fired?" posts.
