Lewis is a FS?

There was at least one CB drafted that will be moved to S. Maybe 2. You have look further into it than just the position listed at draft time.
The South Carolina kid played safety some in college
Seems like the best option to try in camp and see
He has some ball skills and is big and a solid tackler

Lewis is the 3rd CB
Mukaumu has experience at safety
Seems like the logical guy to try there to me
Lewis the back up slot

IMO Will be:
CB1 Diggs
CB2: Joseph
CB3: ABrown
CB4: ??/Wright
CB5: ??/Robinson

Slot 1: ABrown
Slot 2: Lewis
Slot 3: ??

FS1: Kazee
FS2: Robinson II
FS3: Rookie

SS1: Neal/Wilson
SS2: Wilson/Neal
SS3: Kearse

Other guys gonna have to really scrap IMO.

one of the corners we drafted i believe is a better fit at safety and we also have Thompson and Kazee

not saying thats the dynamic duo but they are upgrades

Thing about Kazee is he was healthy his whole career before this injury.

Hopefully he heals up well and remains durable afterwards. He could be a heck of an addition. We are under rating him out of caution.

You got Neal who can play SS and you got Cox who should play some SS in some situations. Two of the CB's we drafted would seem to be strong candidates to play FS.

I don't know what Quinn is thinking but I think we have a lot of options in the backfield.

Almost forgot about Kazee.

There were a few threads discussing this before. Not one safety was taken. With the 2 nice LB pics, my guess in Neal will be a SS, but right now our only FS is a guy coming off an injury and Darian Thompson. Hmmm.
If you remember, Lewis and Kazee are physically almost the same, Lewis also seemed to get a very large contract for a guy that came off of a bad year and is probably only competing to be the slot CB.
I don't want a flame war, it just seems to make sense.
I wouldn't rule out Wilson playing Free. He played more free then strong last season.

I don’t think Joseph replaces Lewis as 3rd cb but be nice if he can beat him out
I’d be getting the new kid from SC lots of reps at safety in camp
He’s played safety in college and has good ball skills
I don’t think he’s gonna be a great CB with his speed and instincts but I think he has some good traits to be a good FS

Cmon!!! Please tell me you guys are joking.
It's the contract. Lewis was not good last year, so why did he get the big contract? Backup slot player? Coming off a bad year at coverage? Physical clone of Kazee? Kazees contract is small and very easily cuttable.

So, the guy that got the biggest offseason contract is our backup slot guy?
He played poorly in coverage last year.
He is a physical clone of Kazee, who converted from CB.
I'm not even saying I want this, I wanted Holland, but it makes sense.
And Robinson is back to CB next year.

Don’t really care the reasoning and you could be right. I’m just cringing at the idea. And to think maybe this is why we didn’t try harder to get moehrig is heart breakingly dumb.

Joseph looks like a FS conversion to me. Lots of speed, great balls skills, but not so much agility.

It is more like Neal will play more safety instead of LBer.
At the Presser today, Coach McCarthy was asked if Neal is a safety or LBer. Without hesitation, he responded, "he's an LBer". So you don't know as much as you think you do.

I wonder if they’ll give Kelvin Joseph a look at FS...

FS is such an important position for this defense and we have nothing.

I still think there is a chance they go after Earl Thomas if he hasn’t completely ran himself out of the league.

Lewis is a slot CB. The Cowboys play nickel most of the time. Period end of discussion.
