The niners are not resigning him because he is not good of a pass blocker even though he mauls guys in the run game.

Leave Martin where he is. I'd rather have a perennial All-Pro at guard than a very good right tackle.

I'd rather they kept the current group together to be honest. Defense should be the main focus.

How about a perrennial All Pro RT ???

But we dont know of he will be that.

Being a ND fan I watched most of his college games. I never saw an top NFL OT in him on either side of the line. He just doesn't have a smooth enough slide, and foot work to do what he does at OG. He is a decent NFL OT IMO but I don't even think he would be as good as Free. When he was at ND, it common thought he was an NFL OG

Luckily Fredericks 5th year option wont be that expensive but the time will come when both him and Martin get locked up. Giving a big contract to Iupati would make that very difficult.

Now if we took Shazier last year, I would be all for it
