We are looking what life will be after Romo retires. This organization refusal to groom his replacement is why we have Weeden. Our coaching staff is not good enough to win without the starters. I like to see good coaches like Mike Tomlin win games without big Ben. Cowboys not only have not won without Romo they haven't been competitive. Only so much can be blamed on losing because Romo is injured. Change your offense...not wait until you have a bye week 3 weeks down the road. Oh, not to mention Colts did okay while Luck was injured.

Why is everyone in such a hurry to replace Romo. These weeks show that we should do whatever we can to keep him here and upright? He has 4-5 more years. Look at Favre, Brees , Brady, Peyton, Palmer.

The Packers got Rodgers when they still had Favre. Why wait until Romo is gone HOPING the next QB will pan out? If you have a QB to groom, at least you'll have a year [or two] to evaluate whether he's a viable option. Unfortunately, this team will wait until Romo's done; they kept Weeden around.

One time in 20 years and everyone acts like that is a plan.

Plus Rodgers fell to 24 in the draft after being talked about as the first overall.

If an Aaron Rodgers falls to 24 again I authorize us to draft him.

This. Smart FOs will address the QB issue early. NE and GB have drafted QBs through out Rodgers and Brady's careers

These guys don't need grooming. They need playing time. Rodgers, Brady, Romo and Warner all had IT. They just needed a chance.

those QBs don't have half the injuries in their career that Romo has (Palmer comes close with his 2 torn ACLs)

And one year NE was able to play........wait for it............ Matt Cassel and the Packers went 2-5 without Rodgers last year with Seanca Wallace, Scott Tolzien and Matt Flynn.

No one is saying anything about replacing Romo. It would just be SMART to draft a potential successor and have him sit for a few more years while Romo finishes his career. Especially when you consider that our OLine will still be in their prime by the time Romo retires, it would be good to have the next QB familiar with the offense so he can step into a good situation.

Mike Tomlin has won twice now in a row without Big Ben. Js. I agree with your overall point. We are ill prepared for life without Tony. I would have preferred to have a young QB groomed under Romo for a year or two but who am I...

Refusal? More likely the QBs they had did not work out. Straight up refusal would mean they had never tried which obviously not true. Regardless if you disagree with their choices.

We need to groom a replacement for sure! I look around the nfl and there is some awful qb play, just terrible. We're fortunate to have Romo for a few more years. But we need a future on the roster for sure.

No arguments from me.

If a great QB talent falls into our laps, I hope we draft them.

Also, to play devils advocate, Jason Garrett wanted to draft Andy Dalton in the 2nd the year he was drafted.

I don't think the organization isn't looking; I just don't think the right guy has cone along that's been available in an appropriate round.

What great QB talent have we truly missed out on in the past few years? Nobody.

If we were drafting QBs every year, there'd be people upset because we're wasting draft picks.

A lot of teams don't even have one good QB and we are worried about trying to get two.

But we don't want to spend a #1 pick and the guy should be good enough to win every game when called on but not good enough to leave when his 4 years is up.

And since we have no other problem areas on the team, we should repeat this process every year.

Here's the problem.

Outside of Luck, the young quarterbacks in the NFL are not good, and the guys in college don't look promising.

Quarterbacks in college aren't being properly developed for the NFL game.

I see ugly pro football soon.
