Just my two cents but our Offense won't be the same without Zeke....I know, I know, that goes without saying. BUT how much? I'll put it like this...those 5 and 6 yard gains are going to turn into 2 and 3 yard gains. How much difference will that make?

Zeke is truly one of the special talents I ever remember seeing on the offensive side of the ball. There is simply no way to replace what no one else can do.

Passing game and defense will have to step up. It's that simple. If you're sitting at 8-5 or 7-6 when Zeke comes back you give yoursef a shot - that's all you can ask for.

We'll still get those 5 and 6 yard runs, but it will be those long ones that are cut down.

A lot. Zeke has 7 of the 23 explosive splash plays over 20 yards or more. Butler and Dez both are tied for 2nd with 4 each. People want to say it will be the same but it isn't. We HAVE to find a way to make that up somewhere in the offense. Morris, Dmac, and Smith are nice backs, but they are not dynamic like Zeke is.

It's now up to Linny and JG to figure out how to produce more offense. (Scary!) When your lead back carries you in the rain and has more rushing yards then your QB has passing yards he's going to be missed.

This whole thing freaking sucks!

I hope this whole witch hunt for Zeke is worth it to Goodell when he (hopefully) doesn't get an extension after all of this. It's almost as if he cares so much more about prosecuting his own players and pissing everyone off than he does about his own job security.

If the Cowboys stick to their game plan of run first and give Morris and DMC the carries Zeke would normally get, I think folks are going to be surprised how well the Cowboys offense is. Now if Dak starts throwing the ball 50 times a game, that's a completely different story.

I'd like to give Rod Smith a nice share of the carries

People are fooling themselves if they think the offense isn’t going to suffer. I like Morris but his days of being a #1 back and getting those kind of carries are over. He’s a decent spot duty back. But this offense is built around #21 and we saw shades of last year the last few games with them controlling the clock. I’m just sick over this situation. I’d be okay if I truly believed he did it. But with what we know and his desire to fight I’m fully in his corner 1000%

Look no further then how this team has performed under this regime when using a RBBC. S...U....C....K....S...this organization has only been successful when they have employed a legit bellcow in the backfield.

McFadden didn't look bad in 2015 so there's a chance. I agree Morris is probably better coming off the bench once every third series or so just the way we use him. Smith has shown flashes. It's up to the coaching staff to strategize how to maximize the effectiveness of these 3 guys. If one of them emerges, make him the workhorse until Zeke returns. I am both terrified and excited to see what happens over the next 6 games.

Maybe he just believes suspending Zeke is the right thing to do and thus is doing his job. Your slant portrays Roger the Clown as a suicidal psychopath and I just don't think that is the case.

Nah I have to agree with the original poster. Zeke gets 4-5 yards runs out of nothing. An ordinary back gets 2 yards on plays where he gets 5.

Its not like he has broken alot of 70 yard runs, on screen passes yeah, but not on a running play. Where Zeke makes a difference is moving the chains from 2nd and 8 to 2nd and 5.

Zeke's second level moves are actually pretty horrible, but he gets 4 yards most of the time, and thats what we will miss.

No way he doesn't get extended. Zero. Bet everything on that one.

I would too. Im honestly hoping DMC has some burst left. Alf is the same act over and over. He looks good in preseason and shows a little early then you spend the next few games watching him run into the back of our linemen.

That's what I'm afraid of. If the running game doesn't work right away they'll move to a more passing game. That will be disaster.

We'll need to throw the deep ball and play action to open up the running for our replacement backs. We will not survive with a run first approach. Dez and Witten will need to step it up.
