Very simple reason. I work at a big sports memorabilia store.

Atlanta is filled with band wagon fans. There is no loyalty. We hosted the Yanks and red sox this year back to back series and the stadium was far more away fans then home team fans. A shame...

But back to the other reason, there is still a very large Mike Vick fan base in Atlanta, and tons of them switched loyalty with the player and became Eagles fans. (they claim they like atlanta still but buy nothing but Eagles stuff)

So that may shed some light onto why there are so many "eagles" fans now.

exactly atl is really fickle i mean every other year the falcons have a winning season they claim superbowl the next and if they have a bad season you cant pay someone to claim them

No, it isn't. People wear what makes them comfortable or appealing. I've got a friend who wears 6 or 7 gold rings, a gold watch, a gold bracelet, and about 9 or 10 gold chains. That's how he likes to look. I wouldn't do it, but I'm not his Jiminy Cricket conscience.
