Then they should have released him. Coaches are way too scared to use a new guy. What was he gonna do underperform Zeke's 2 yards a carry? If they make the 53 use em. Weak scared little coaches.
Naw I can't say that about this staff. Maybe about how they handled Zeke but they had no issues playing guys like Damone Clark, Daron Bland....hell they started Dennis Houston week 1 last year and two years before started a rookie undrafted free agent named Terrence Steele. I can't say that they are scared to play young guys. There's something there with Malik. I posted how they someone said he was punished for spazzing out on them but I questioned if that was true why not release him if it was that deep not to play him.

lol it’s monumentally stupid having him cut into the younger guys carries. What’s funny is you don’t even have to watch a down of football and you’re already handing him his job back and people can’t see the problem. The reputation is better than the actual play. Jerry’s true superstar back to eat again.
I wouldn't be handing him his job. Go to camp and determine who's the best back. I don't see the issue with competition. Zeke's pass protection is why they played him more than they should've.

As far as cutting into younger guys carries? Ronald Jones is meh, we hope Vaughn has a good career but at best he's a Boston Scott type who will get limited carries anyway, and Malik and Rico? I just don't see much on the depth chart behind Pollard.

You already proclaimed he’s better. It would be the same with Jerry. Any competition would be out the window. They’re finally churning the RBs. I don’t see a backwards move helping. Plus if Zeke has an ounce of pride you don’t go back to the same team wearing a different number making minimum wage. The whole idea would be ridiculous and typical of how Jerry’s been operating for 3 decades.

This alludes to the one thing I do agree with, letting guys play and getting a true assessment of what they've got. It's scary but sometimes the progress stoppers gotta go before you can get a read on these untested guys. Having said that, they ought to be giving a bruiser RB a chance too,,, that's kinda what I meant by them being "light" at the position.

Dont even try to BS me and tell me that you wanted Zeke gone. Just caught you agreeing when another poster said we should resign zeke.
You did not catch me doing anything. I said I understood (all summer long) why Zeke was let go. I like a post where a poster said bring back Zeke. So you take that anyway you want. As I don't care what to think about it.
Zeke at a reduced price is much better than any option out there. That is what the topic was about. No one said replace Pollard with Zeke.

24 / 7 dude, 24 / 7 as you are the only one that can't stop posting about Zeke.

No problem with how you see it but Clark didn't play right away. Lb and rb can usually play fairly quickly. They had no choice to play Houston and bland due to injury issues. Houston wasn't even playing well. Bland was a pleasant surprise, but both were forced into playing time. Steele was in a similar boat, but he more or less won them over in camp I think. There wasn't an older vet option still on the team he was passing up. I think they trusted Zeke more, maybe partly liked him as a person more I dunno. What I do know is Zeke wasn't getting it done and Malik was riding the bench. Maybe he does nothing or maybe he runs decent with fresh legs we will never know.

According to the FO, it's zero.
1. Tagged pollard who should be healthy to start the season.
2. Malik showed a little something last year
3. Signed free agent vet
4. Drafted a late round RB who can catch. Also signed a full back after the draft.

Why would they sign anyone else right now before TC or pre season games? You have to at least wait till camp at this point.
Malik "showed a little something"...and when we needed a real RB we kept hammering an injured zeke.

Does not compute.

Damn, good call. I had forgotten about that, probably because he's still here.

If they didn't want to play him when we needed him the most I'm suprised they kept him around.

Second chances are great and all, but dude this is the divisional round and it's hard to forgive not being able to trust at that point.
You beat me to it.

Yeah I don't even know if I should believe it because I mean if you won't play him when you only have Zeke when will you play him and why is he on the team? Just very odd.

I mean you said they are afraid to play young talent and then I list the young talent and you make an excuse for why they played all of them lol. They could've literally played anyone but Dennis Houston. They could've played anyone but Terrence Steele. Damone didn't play right away because he was hurt. Soon as he got healthy he damn near came right in and started. Bland was a result of Lewis injury but they could've signed a vet nickel corner to take that spot as well.
