1 (22) Felix Jones, RB, Arkansas
A bit overshadowed by Darren McFadden, but Jones can play...Fast, tough to bring down despite upright style, has good hands and is a downfield threat...Almost as versatile as MvFadden, would make a fine kick returner too...Not afraid to stick his head in on blocks, especially in pass protection...Might have better hands than any running back this year.

1 (25) Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida
One of the better prospects from a strong crop...Comes off strong season...Very fast and has good footwork in coverage...Sticks with his man on most routes...A ballhawk who sometimes gets too aggressive going for interceptions...Not afraid to stick it in there against the run, which helped raise his stock...Has had off-field issues...Could start right away for Cowboys

2 (61) Martellus Bennett, TE, Texas A & M
Won't get deep, but will find seams over the middle and catch the ball...Difficult to tackle...Improved throughout his career with Aggies...Pretty good blocker, but has some technique issues...Needs soem time to develop...Could replace traded Anthony Fasano

4 (122) Tashard Choice, RB, Georgia Tech
Transfer from Oklahoma who made decent impact for Tech...Goes down a bit too easily, but is good on cutbacks...Sees the field well and doesn't give up on plays...Has had knee problems...Could be a quality receiver on 3rd downs...A project.

5 (143) Orlando Scandrick, CB, Boise State
Smart player who understands his position...Makes the best of his skills, especially in short coverage...Also can help on special teams...Might struggle in his backpedal, but that can be coached...Worth a look.

6 (167) Erik Walden, LB, Middle Tennessee State
A defensive end who will be converted to linebacker...Should get some work in pass rushign situations and in spelling Dallas' starters...Also can be a factor on special teams.

Good Move: Mike Jenkins might be the steady cornerback Dallas has lacked.

Tell me Why: Choice was more of a luxury pick; another running back wasn't a need.

Could Surprise: Not Jerry Jones, who wanted a Razorback and got one.

How do they have Pacman Jones listed?

They didn't call him "Adam" did they?

Adam is nowhere near his name.

"If he gets reinstated will offer immediate help as the 3rd CB."

The Choice pick was Insurance in Case we didn't get Barber's name on a long term deal, however, I'm happy to have him, what Depth we now have at RB and a huge upgrade over TT.

I always buy it. I haven't read much beyond that yet. I didn't think it was a very good synopsis either. They say Choice "goes down too easily" and "doesn't give up on plays." How does that work?

This is what I love about draft pick "analysis." One site can see one thing, another one can see something completely different. This one actually contradicts itself in the same profile. From NFL.com Draft (http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/f...rofile-tab-set-1:player-profile-tab-analysis).

Under positives it says:

Plays with good toughness and competitiveness, as he will lower his head and square his shoulders to drive through after contact...Not really a punishing runner, but easily bounces off tackles and gives second effort when the rush lane is clogged

But then turns around and says something completely different:

Has good leg drive, but will make bigger gains when trying to avoid, as he is generally brought down on the initial hit when operating in a crowd...He had just 22 runs on which the opposition needed more than one defender to take him down on 133 attempts in 2007

1 (25) Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida
One of the better prospects from a strong crop...Comes off strong season...Very fast and has good footwork in coverage...Sticks with his man on most routes...A ballhawk who sometimes gets too aggressive going for interceptions...Not afraid to stick it in there against the run, which helped raise his stock...Has had off-field issues...Could start right away for Cowboys[/quote]

I found this interesting also from NFL's Draft site. (http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/m...profile-tab-set-1:player-profile-tab-analysis)

Compares To: CARLOS ROGERS-Washington...Like Rogers, there is no questioning Jenkins' speed -- he can stay with any receiver on deep routes. However, like Rogers, he is not a good tackler and tends to shy away from lending run support. Jenkins has some hip stiffness that is evident in transition and marginal hands to make the interception. He will bite on pump fakes and doesn't have great ball anticipation skills. He might be a better fit at free safety, as his best assets are his quickness, making plays in front of him and generating a good press. Quite a few publications list him as the best cornerback prospect for the 2008 NFL Draft. If he is indeed the best, NFL receivers could be salivating. He is a fine athlete, but isn't ready to star at the next level.

sonny that is why being draft evaluator for a magazine or a website must be a great job.

you can say anything about anybody and once camps start no one remembers nor cares. Same thing with all the evaluators and analysts on tv, they can say whatever they want right now. No one cares and no one remembers.

the time to analyze these guys is after about 8 weeks of the season, then maybe you can get some glimpse of what they might be. that is pushing it too though.

Two players for you: Vince Young. Reggie Bush. Hype machines with little as of yet to back it up in the pros...

Yea, its hard not to buy the mags even though you know 4 guys from here could put out a better one in about 30 minutes with a 200 dollar pc.

Its like refusing chocolate cake even if it isn't your mother's chocolate cake....

Im more excited about the hands. Seems like with our weapons that dumpoff is always there. My dad turns that into a nice gain alsmot every time, hopefully Felix can master this. Some sites have compared him to Westbrook, if he can be half that, we made the right pick

This pick was a no brainer. Doesnt need to start off the bat, but there will be high expectations soon. If we didnt trade up, and the Texans grabbed him that would of really shaken our draft board up. Probably would of traded down at that point.

I was confused by this one. He should be an intruiging red zone prospect, maybe solid back up at some time. I think Jerry was hoping a James Hardy, or Limas Sweed would of fell to him.

Before all the trading down, I think they were looking at Steve Slaton. A back similar to Felix. And a potential rerturn man. I dont think Choice was the worst case scenario. But they dont seem to be gushing over him like some of the other picks

5 (143) Orlando Scandrick, CB, Boise State
Smart player who understands his position...Makes the best of his skills, especially in short coverage...Also can help on special teams...Might struggle in his backpedal, but that can be coached...Worth a look.

Loved the pick. I was hoping wed take one more corner for depth and competition. Seems like we got a steal and a nice future prospect.

6 (167) Erik Walden, LB, Middle Tennessee State
A defensive end who will be converted to linebacker...Should get some work in pass rushign situations and in spelling Dallas' starters...Also can be a factor on special teams.

A lot of people are saying he wasnt going to get drafted. Maybe better to take the guy you like, rather than getting in a bidding war and risk losing him in free agency

Good Move: Mike Jenkins might be the steady cornerback Dallas has lacked.

All I had to do was read the bottom two lines and could tell this moron is an amature.

First of all, Choice was a bit of a need as Tyson Thompson was let go. The luxury part of this was that Choice is a significant upgrade and it only cost Dallas a 4th round pick.

Plus, Dallas didn't have many holes to fill to begin with. Any NFL expert would have figured out that a team that went 13-3, and only losing low production players like Julius Jones, Anthony Fasano, Jacques Reeves, and Nate Jones, would not have criticized going after a need in the 4th round.

That, and blasting Jerry on his plethera of Razorback draft picks.
