Linebacker is clearly the #1 priority in the draft

Maybe you should see what Peterman can do before you toss him under the bus. You seem to be convinced that "any" guard drafted will automatically be better than Peterman.

It doesn't work like that there sparky. ;)

That happens every April.

There is always a few players that are targeted as just so horrific that we could get someone, anyone out of the draft that is better.

We can do better than Jacob Peterman, I mean, Stephen Rogers, I mean, oh nevermind, you get it.

Jefft, I don't think we reached on Burnett. He was like the second best talent in terms of pure linebackers in the draft. And if not for his injuries, he would easily have been a first round draft pick like Derrick Johnson.

HMM, this sounds contradictory to the whole title of this post to me:drunk:

none of the LBs we added can rush the passer consistently enough, which is why OLB seems to be a huge priority still

Summer, I agree with a majority of what you say but I dont think we've given Burnett enough time there to make a decision. I saw a very good blitzer at least from the inside (there was a play I think vs Zona where he almost got a safety). He also had to focus on 3 of the 4 lb responsibilities. And lastly, our backer over there needs to be more of a cover guy than a rush guy. If he can blanket TEs (we were next to last vs them according to football outsiders in covering), that can free up Roy to be the intimidator. Additionally I feel a lot better with Burnett a former safety covering the likes of Westbrook,Portis, and Barber out of the backfield than a Carpenter or Lawson.

He is good but that doesn't mean that he can be relied on to be effective this year, especially early in the season.
