Of course it's a proven strength. 2 players without a single NFL game, Kendricks in his 11th year and Damone Clark.

I'd say probably top 7 in the league
said nothing about PROVEN
just that at this moment it looks a little better than the secondary and a lot better than the DL

Clark, Kendricks and Overshown/Parsons (depending on where Micha lines up)

But I think Clark and Kendricks see the most snaps at LB.
Agree and with Liufau getting snaps too. I've said it all offseason (as have many others) but I expect a huge improvement in the LBer play and certainly part of that is due to adding beef to the DT position.

Disprove then...
Yeah uh, it doesn't work that way in life . Overshown and Liufau have to prove they can both stay healthy AND get up to NFL speed because they have zero experience... .we already know what Kendricks and Damone are...PFFs of 72 and 61 respectively

Just because we don't have a safety playing MLB anymore doesn't make it an area of strength

Basically, the whole team has to prove they can stay healthy and compete with the best teams.

Bingo. As of right now the best LB on the team is kendricks. There are plenty of candidates to improve as the year goes on but they all have a lot to prove as they are either yet to play a down or haven’t been that good in the NFL despite showing the physical traits to succeed.

There are a lot of analysts already disagreeing with your base of reasoning. You have studied prior observations and values involved? Don't talk real world as to potential and merit missing.

We have players that have NFL experience here already. I was just speaking to Overshown and Liufau because they've never played a single down in a regular season game and Overshown has a history of injuries.

This applies to Guyton and Beebe too.....I need to see evidence before getting lathered up over them

you commenting nothing on the statement to alter a valid comment. You offer instead a biased attitude based upon a personal mood and abstract.

Oh, I value experienced and direct participation in a real discussion on a business entity.

Go out on the street and sell a non discussion as reasonable. Go check your fact check in a debate...any day.

Leave this fan out of that cry baby episode. I see your effort as no more than vanity....as if that falls out of the real world.
You sure read an awful lot into a statement that 2 LBs have zero experience in the NFL.

Kind of angry sounding too....you having a bad day?

That's really going out on a limb. The secondary is depleted with injuries and the DTs are Crapola.

Yeah I really do expect a much improved run defense. I also think a lot of our mental gaffs/stupid penalties will go away. My biggest concern is generating pressure post DQ. I can't imagine we will be on top of qbs as often, but we should still do well as a pass rushing / pass defense.

Check out above as that was changed before this and the above that comment. Now discuss what you present for reasonable. Experience and leadership effects as this season develops.

With the retirement of Leighton Vander Esch, it was essential for the Cowboys to get some veteran experience at linebacker to go with youngsters Damone Clark and DeMarvion Overshown. That brought in another one of Zimmer’s guys, Eric Kendricks, who played for him for seven years in Minnesota. Looking at the film from training camp, Kendricks, despite being older, can still diagnose plays with the best of them and has the ability to plug running lames quickly. Overshown is a heat seeking missile that loves to play downhill, much like rookie Marist Liufau. Clark was out of place when he had to play middle linebacker. Now, with Kendricks having that role, he can play freely and hopefully reach the potential everyone has been clamoring for since he was drafted in 2022.

Dallas now has players more equipment on the defensive line to keep offensive lineman from getting to the second level. So, guys like Kendricks, Overshown, Clark, and Liufau can roam and make plays in the open field. Of course, it will take time for things to gel in real games, but the Cowboys have certainly improved their chances of being a better run defense this season.

i can see Hendricks and Clark starting

with Marist and Overshown playing in spots, situations and packages ..
. get their inexperience feet wet first, break them in slowly before either or both take over permanently.

I just hope hope Zimmer doesn’t think it’s 1999 still and tries to play 3 LB’s as reported in the off-season.

Only way that would work in the modern NFL is if it’s a 3-3-5 with Micah as the 3rd LB blitzing 95% of the time

I'm curious about the linebackers and who starts. For instance, I did a little research on Nick Vigal, veteran they brought in. Looks like to me, he's a pretty solid player when he's on the field. He played strongside linebacker mostly for the other teams that he played for. The guy has some pretty good stats. Good tackler and pretty consistent. Another words, a football player. What do you guys think?
you can expect him to play 1st string special teams!!
