I just hope hope Zimmer doesn’t think it’s 1999 still and tries to play 3 LB’s as reported in the off-season.

Only way that would work in the modern NFL is if it’s a 3-3-5 with Micah as the 3rd LB blitzing 95% of the time
Most teams have three LBs on the field on early downs to stop the run. Quinn was the one with too small of lineups which made them easy to run on. That has to be changed.

Nope, again, that’s outdated thinking. There’s no such thing as an “early down run defense.” That doesn’t exist when teams are running 3 WR sets and throwing on 1st down the majority of the time. 3 LB’s are on the field only about 1/4 of the time across the league, and for good reason.

Disprove then...
As a man of my word, I wanted to come back and say that this first game by our linebackers is the start of tangible evidence that they may be a pretty good unit and I'm ecstatic that they stayed healthy which is one of my concerns

As the evidence continues to mount I will continue to evaluate fairly as I have no problem whatsoever in changing my view based on evidence.

Each game played by every team gives us more prospective at to the strength of our opponents which is what we use as criteria

So far, so great. Nice discipline by the LBs and most important no injuries

I don't know about anyone else but I was just glad to see a LB on the field. Overshown is stinking fast. It was nice to see our D doing a good job. The D gets the game ball in my opinion.

The defenses are historicaly ahead of the offenses in the begining of the season so no surprise with that. I can't help think that our offense would have looked better if they played even a little bit of the preseason.....but im also aware of the injury concerns

I figured the O would be a little slow getting in sync. You never know how the first game is going to turn out. thank goodness it was in our favor. The Browns QB never really got it going.
