When we've had a good QB under center during his tenure, the Cowboys record is 26-7. Playoff included.

Risen hates those numbers. What he hates most is he honestly didn't see the talent. His hatred of all things Jerry has blinded him(and many others) to the obvious.

He is definitely a key to our success and I hope he is around a long time.

Yeah, if he must go, I'd like to have him with Dak for at least one more season, Percy. Jerry needs to give him a blank check for at least the next two years, if possible.. He is a quarterback whisperer (minus the filth we trotted out last crap season) :)

When is his contract up?
His contract is up when Jerry says so my bro. Lol lol
:dance::dance:- just messn. I hope we keep him

I may have to un-ignore Risen. He must be chirping and making a fool of himself because he is getting mentioned a lot. Might add some entertainment and humor to my holidays.

Completely different offensive scheme in Green Bay outside of the zone blocking.

I don't think McCarthey is fired anyway.

YR
I agree with you as far as the schemes are concerned Green Bay has been a traditional West Coast offensive team for years now and will more than likely stay that way for a while as long as Rodgers is the QB. Linehan is more of a Spread/Coryell offensive guy as for McCarthy he may or may not get fired but he's on borrowed time imo.

The dude has been calling great, and I mean GREAT games this season. Nice hire Jason.

Also....did you see him get fired up after the non-PI call? I've never even seen the man with a smile on his face.......

Could a mod please fix the title.....Linehan Love NOT Linehan's Love......thanks. HATE spell check!!

Only nit I have is all the passing in red zone, especially at end of halves with 2 minutes or less. Cowboys must do better job of eating that clock especially when we play teams with potent offenses. Both Skins and Steelers used the time to score before the half. Both very close games. Not sure if this Linehan or Garrett but we really need to button that up. No need to give up a score before the half if we can help it.

Linehan has been terrific since he has joined the Cowboys. I won't ding coordinators on playcalling since we are not privy to all of the advance scouting that is used to formulate the gameplan. He also has a nice way with the QBs that he works with, and you can see that it's a collaborative effort. I don't think he's going anywhere, though. I think his window as a head coach came and went with the Rams flameout.

Did Linehan suddenly learn to coach... Or he suddenly has healthy personnel?

The world may never know.

I wonder if our hatred of the play calling in prior years was due to Romo changing the call at the line of scrimmage.

His first year with Linehan as playcsller was 2014 and he had close to 40 TDs and 9 INTs and Dallas ran everything through the run.

Garrett's last years as OC, they basically relied on hurry up and had Romo in shotgun the majority of time and threw out of shotgun 85% of the time. Romo wasn't even involved in game-planning until after 2013 and the first year was marred by Garrett interfering. So it has nothing to do with Romo changing the plays, it was our offensive game plans wer awful and basically relied on Romo bailing us out.

Then Garrett had play-calling duties taken away with the agreement to keep the Coryell and Jerry specifically said when he was bringing in Linehan that he will run the ball like he did in Detroit and that coaches pay lip service to it, but when it comes find to do it, don't.

This makes sense. Thanks for the articulate response without flaming.
