I meant as JG's OC, as someone hypothetically brought up in an earlier post.

And yes, he is under contract w/ the Texans, so he would have to be brought in as an assistant head coach. Not likely to happen considering his age and limited experience, but I personally would welcome the move. The Texans were ranked #3 overall in total offense. He did a terrific job w/ Slaton, a rook who amassed 1500+ total yards. He's grown up w/ a dad who's considered one of best offensive minds.

the nfl got rid of the BS assistant head coach position promotions a couple years ago. They now view two tiers...Head Coach and all other coaches (assistant head coach, coordinators, position coaches, consultants, etc). If you are under contract...you can only leave with permission or for a promotion (in which case you don't need permission to interview).

ESPN has an article up claiming some no-name LB coach on staff is gonna get their HC job.
Don Martindale?

If so, I actually think that's a decent hire.

Yeah thats the guy...says he is extremely loyal to Al Davis but is well thought of around the league...I've never heard of him to be honest

the raiders have just shot that idea down now according to espn and said he was never in the running for the job

if garrett was to be the head coach i would only support it if we brought in another highly qualified offensive coordinator to help him run this offense. the guy seems like he can be a great leader but at this stage in his developement hes in over his head in terms of effectively running an offense. hopefully he improves.
