And yes, he is under contract w/ the Texans, so he would have to be brought in as an assistant head coach. Not likely to happen considering his age and limited experience, but I personally would welcome the move. The Texans were ranked #3 overall in total offense. He did a terrific job w/ Slaton, a rook who amassed 1500+ total yards. He's grown up w/ a dad who's considered one of best offensive minds.
the nfl got rid of the BS assistant head coach position promotions a couple years ago. They now view two tiers...Head Coach and all other coaches (assistant head coach, coordinators, position coaches, consultants, etc). If you are under contract...you can only leave with permission or for a promotion (in which case you don't need permission to interview).
