What can you say about this guy?
Absolutely incredible talent, 5 goals tonight (first player to score 5 in a champions league knockout game) taking him to, assuming the commentator was correct, 54 goals in 49 games for club and country this season including 7 hat tricks.
Ronaldo must hate him, pretty much any other point since Maradona and he would be easily the best player on the planet but now he's practically an afterthought.
Barca in general are a joy to watch but Messi is in a class all of his own.

Incredible player. I wish I had gotten to see that performance. I saw they were up 3-0 and turned it off haha

I wish I could have seen it. He is incredible and fun to watch. Even if you are not a soccer fan he is something to watch. Kobe Bryant is a big fan of his.

If he ever does it in a World Cup he will be considered the greatest ever.. til then he is a step behind -- great player.

I only saw the highlights. What a tremendous player he is.

I love the fact that he's not a diver. And frankly, I don't see why soccer players feel they can get an advantage by doing so. 9 times out of 10 you're tripped or "tackled" because you are beating the opponent, why fall down and settle for a free kick...?

I thought they said his goal total through all competitions was 48 for the season.

I agree. I have seen guys settle for the "foul" and a free kick when it appeared had they kept running through the play they may have had a better chance at scoring. Fernando Torres is one of the worst offenders. And the ref can still call a foul without the offensive player flopping.

They can, but they normally don't and that is part of the problem.

The team I follow had a situation earlier this season when one of our attackers got through on goal, he tried to dribble the ball around the goalie and was clearly fouled by the keeper. However he tried to stay on his feet and shoot but in doing so a defender caught him and put him off enough so that he didn't score.

Had he have fallen down, we would have had a penalty, the keeper would almost certainly have been sent off & in all likelihood we would have scored to make the game 1-1. We would then have been favourites to go on and win the game. Instead we missed that chance and ended up losing 2-0.

It's situations like this that encourage players to fall down after a tackle, it then forces the referee to make a decision.

I'm a huge Chelsea fan and I despise having this dude rock the blue, it's shameful.

This is the only reason I know who that is.

I was impressed that he is not a typical diver, but I didn't watch the entire video.

lol. If I were him and those dudes were doing that **** to me. I would have butchered them right then and there on that field. :laugh2:

If they keep allowing that BS being done to him, this guy is going to have a short career.

This is just another reason soccer sucks. It's just as bad as the NBA.

That was some absolutely sick passing by Fabregas. It's not really even fair to have those two together.

Maybe even 4th best. At least for what the team needs. Xavi and Iniesta probably are more important to the style of play that Barca uses. Same with Spain's national team.

Messi is the best Pro Athlete in the world.

Nobody is better at their Profession than him.

Now I hope my boy Ibra can take him down in the Champs league.
