This is interesting.

If you can get a copy of the book War Room, it has a lot about him from his time as part of the Cleveland Mafia with Belichick through his days in New England.

Any kind of shake up in the personnel department is good. We need fresh eyes and a new approach. At the very least another voice.

Vital has been with the team since 2008, was well-regarded, and actually fielded general manager interviews with other teams, so in that sense, this move is extremely surprising. Vital was regarded as an integral part of the front office, and considering Thomas Dimitroff hired him, it's odd to see him go while Dimitroff stays.

The only possible downside to this is less Will McClay, but I'm sure the team made sure that was taken care of before they ever got this far.

I doubt this will have much impact on our draft. He'll probably be as clueless next month as Jerry and Stephen. But going forward maybe it pays off.

It is a little late for the draft.

I wonder if he is more pro personnel and if that means less Judd Garrett, I heartily approve.

Let's hope he really digs QBs who wear yellow and green.
