The moments and day after the Lions were upset by the team from Washington ( which will always be called the Commanders),
what fan base is upset more?

Lions had a wonderful season, with the record number of wins in a regular season.
They captured the #1 seed only to get knocked out in the 1st rd as the Cowboys did in 2023.

Detroit fans had high hopes in a loooooooong time only to have them crushed.
Meanwhile, Dallas fans sees their former DC Dan Quinn turn an organization around, with a rookie QB, in one season
In addition, taking with him many former Cowboys players to Washington with him to get to their 1st NFC Conference game in 33 years

Cowboys were not even in the playoffs, but watching what Commanders did to the Lions and advancing was equally crushing as
last seasons home playoff embarrassment to the Packers.

My upset rank:
  1. Dallas
  2. Detroit
Divisional winners should always win in the wild card round. It should have been a 'sure win' for the Cowboys. Green Bay should have been dead on arrival (e.g. had no chance) playing on the road.

The Lions were the number one overall seed and played at home. Washington proved they had a chance of upsetting any regular season division winner by advancing to the divisional round.

Flashback to last year: Green Bay did not do to the 49ers on the road what Washington did to Detroit this postseason. 2024's Packers should not have advanced. They did.

Additionally, the playoff bracket expansion to seven teams per conference is very recent but past results are still notable. Sixth seeds have made it to their conference championship rounds and even the Super Bowl.

Although records are meant to be broken, a seventh seed should never advance. Green Bay disproved then re-affirmed that notion in back-to-back NFC postseason appearances as a seventh seed. Dallas should have made certain the Packers seventh seeded postseason streak should still be 0-2.

I think last years Detroit loss to SF was much worse. They were dominating that game and didn't show up for the 2nd half. Last year was probably their best chance. The injury bug finally caught up to them this year.

As far as Dallas, nothing really surprises me anymore. I'm numb to their losses anymore. Sometimes l feel like the players are just happy when the season ends.

Detroit pulled a 2007, 2016 Dallas. Great regular seasons and fizzled out in the divisional round at home. These windows can shut in a hurry in the NFL unless you have a great QB, something Goff isn't. And now, their good coaches will start getting poached. Is Dan Campbell going to be like a Belichik where the coaches under him don't matter as much? But Bill also had Brady to lean on for 2 decades. Detroit will be kicking themselves for not getting at least one SB appearance from the last 2 seasons.

This, QB and RB on fire in 2016 and best OL that year, no excuses.

.....I have family in South Detroit....one just flew home yesterday morning, after coming foe my daughter's wedding. They are disappointed, but appreciative for the team and season. I'm sure they have their ignorant fans too? Every fanbase does. Except for the Cowboys......of, course.

Detroits defense is like if we walked into a playoff game missing Parsons, Kendricks, Diggs, Bland, Lewis, OSA, Lawrence, Mazi and both safties

Washington took advantage of it like they were supposed to

But Detroit should be more hurt

Dallas fans already know what to expect In the playoffs and should’ve know we’d be 8-9 this season

Congratulations your daughter!

Agree there are ignorant fans everywhere.

The Cowboys will never feel the Lions pain. They have 5 championships while the Lions have never even been to a Super Bowl. The Lions two greatest players quit on them and the best QB they’ve had in their history was traded away and went on to win a Super Bowl with someone else. The Lions history sucks!

I forgot to mention the greatest team the Lions had in their entire franchise history, that won 15 games just went one and done in the playoffs. It SUCKS being the Lions.

The Lions went into the game with 16 guys on IR many of whom were there best defensive players. So, if you are a Detroit fan, you can still have some hope for next year if the team can stay healthier. Not sure what hope Cowboy fans have for next year. We were 3-4 when the team was healthy and the team is highly invested in a dead end QB. We have an incompetent GM and we are looking at 2 teams in our division that are clearly better than us for the foreseeable future.

I'd rather be in Detroits position than the Cowboys.

I suspect the disappointment is similar. Lions fans have to wondering if their team fails in the big moments. They must be wondering if their HC can get them over the top. They had to feel like they were going to the Super Bowl this year so it has to be incredibly disappointing for Lions fans.

Cowboys fans had a long season to come to grips with the fact that this team is going nowhere as long as Jerry is in control. Hope is lost in Dallas.

The difference is Detroit was Super Bowl favorites. Their loss was more inline with the Cabo Cowboys loss to the Giants in 2008. I am still angry about that loss.

We feel their pain?? How's that? At least they've been to a championship game in the last couple of decades. At least their organization actually WANTS to win, and makes some attempt to put together a winning team. Cowboys fans have no hope whatsoever, and this is before we get stuck with Kellen Moore for 5 years.

Refresh my memory, remember when the Lions tanked and went 0 and whatever? How many championships did that get them? And then, kept losing a lot and getting higher draft picks? How many more championships did that get them? Member? Member?
