I thought we had an interest in him during that draft but the Lions ended up grabbing him I think early in the 4th round and we ended up with Brady James-- not that I'm complaining.

Pitt also cut their other #3 QB, Shane Boyd, too.Sandman52 said:Why did Jacobs get cut? They only wanted him to be the 3rd QB this season. There is definitely something wrong there with that picture. I would temper my excite on Omar Jacobs.

Avery said:No to Rogers. He was given the world and threw it away. One of the bigger busts in recent memory.
Now Jacobs, on the other hand, is a guy I'd like to keep as a developmental prospect. He has to be better than Mroz right?

Crown Royal said:Yeah - I was at the Detroit/Dallas game last year and sat behind a group of Lions fans. They were convinced that it was going to be Roger's year, with Roy Williams drawing coverage to his side.
I don't see Rogers being a Jimmy Williams type guy elsewhere, either. He is going to be forgotten a la Peerless Price.
Crown Royal said:He probably won't get picked up, if his contract is large.
"After 24 hours, we will start contacting teams and I'm sure teams will be contacting us," Poston told The Associated Press. "He's a 25-year-old receiver with a lot of talent."
Avery said:I think you meant Jimmy Smith, but I see where you're going.
Roy Williams, Charles Rogers, Mike Williams. If those guys would have panned out and Harrington lived up to his #3 overall status, not a team in the league would be able to stop their pass. Too tall, too strong, too good. They could have been legendary.
Alas, that's not the case. Roy Williams is a beast and would be a top five receiver if he could get on a decent team. Williams has shown that he's more of a small TE than a legitimate WR (which frankly shocks me as I thought he was going to be productive). I guess it's still early for him, but it's an uphill battle.
And Rogers, well, all-world talent controlled by a clueless brain and wilted heart. He's got his millions and that's all he really needs. He's set for life; he doesn't need football and we don't need him.
