Lions resting starters?

so if the packers win...

the lions win or lose vs us will be playing for the nfcN on the last week?

Where does the article say they may rest starters? Slay is hurt so him not playing has nothing to do with the team holding out a healthy player.
sorry, the article was in regards to Slay's status only, not resting starters

just perusing their message board and there are 2 threads dedicated to the possibility of resting guys

Which will probably be the snf game.

interesting.

if giants lose.. and packers win . our game vs the lions will be meaningless. lions wont go all out theyll be thinking of GB and we would have clinched everything.

Wait, so is this game for the Lions equated to our game against the Eagles in 2011 after we saw the Giants win right before us? We yanked Romo once we saw the Giants win and the Eagles game was 100% meaningless for us.

I decided to visit those Detroit Forums that were posted, in one thread, a poster said: " we have a monster DE "... must be talking about, Randy Gregory, maybe.:laugh::laugh:

One day generally doesn't make a lot of difference, but it can't hurt when injured players are concerned. I wonder if the fact that the next game is on Monday would make it more likely for some of our injured players to play (Lawerence, Wilcox, Claiborne, etc).

No. We need to win one more game, either Detroit or Philly will do it to get home field and east divisional title.

the lions can be the wild card at 10-6 why on earth do people keep bringing this up that this game is meaningless for detroit?

slay is injured and not being rested.

Seeing some buzz that Slay is doubtful to play and a Packers win vs. the Vikings could make our game virtually meaningless.

Could they be resting their starters?

http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2016/12...play-against-dallas-questionable-beyond-that/

The article states that if the Packers beat the Vikes on Sunday, that it sets up a winner take all scenario in week 17 when the Packers travel to Detroit.

This is for the division title, but Detroit can still get a wildcard so that game against us still means something. They are not going to rest anybody.

Since the Packers play the before the game might be meaningless. If the Packers win Detroit cannot gain anything by beating us. They will either be 9-6 or 10-5. Packers would be 9-6. Apparently a win against the Packers gives Detroit the tiebreaker and a loss gives Green Bay.

Haha, yeah.

There's a lot of scenarios right now, but in all likelihood, it looks like the Lions winning this week will put them in the playoffs regardless of what happens in GB

We need one win or a Giants loss/tie to win a first round bye.

A Boys loss makes our worst record possibly 12-4. A Boys win makes our worst record 13-3 and therefore clinches.

A Giants win makes them possibly 12-4 with a tie breaker over us head to head and division W/L record. They get home field if they win out and we lose out.

One win by us is all we need be it the Eagles or Lions. A loss or tie knocks Giants out of the HFA race and division crown.

We have a 98% chance of winning the #1 seed now. We have clinched the #5 or #6 seed already.
