Lions want to get Bush signed before he leaves town
Posted by Mike Florio on March 12, 2013, 4:25 PM EDT

APReggie Bush is now a free agent, for the first time in his career. Per multiple sources, he’ll visit the Lions first.

The Lions, we’re told, are nervous about Bush leaving without a contract. The market has heated up for Bush as free agency approached.

The Cardinals also are interested in Bush. As mentioned earlier in the afternoon, Commanders quarterback Robert Griffin III wants Bush in Washington.

Some think Bush is destined to land a deal that pays, on average, $3 million to $4 million per year. He was paid a base salary of $4.5 million in 2012 by Miami

Would be a great fit in that offense. They throw the ball more than any team in the league, and Bush is great catching the ball out of the backfield. Would be a great weapon for them. Anywhere but Washington though.

....we've heard for weeks the Lions want him:no secret there. HE's a FOOL if he goes to DC. I truly don't think he fits that offense that well as there aren't enough carries to go around anyway...he doesn't seem like a Shanahan 'guy' to me either. I'll tell you this: there IS enough interest in Reggie around the league to get 5 mil per yr. although the Lions might not be able to afford that: they have big cap issues....very big.
