We released Ware. We're looking for the room now as opposed to later obviously.
This is one free agency that a lot of good vet players are becoming available due to the majority of teams looking to get younger and more cap conscious. Everyone is depending more on the draft.
Our FO seems to be looking at things that same way. I'm one that believes that's a good thing whether fans believe in this so called cap crunch we're in is forcing it upon the organization or not.
FA has stories going both good and bad. Seahawks FA last season was good. They got value on guys like Bennett and Avril. They paid heavy for a game day difference maker in Harvin but it paid off in the championship game. Will probably be the case next season as well if he can stay healthy.
I believe if we stay patient, there are quite a list of players that can add value to this team and if supplemented by a good draft get us back to being a legitimate playoff team. Cap situation present and future.
There's the obvious names that look to prospectively add value at a viable price for their age group/level of play. Health permitting should fit our system:
Henry Melton (DT)
Linval Joseph (DT)
Clinton MacDonald (DT)
Wesley Woodyard (OLB)
Lamar Houston (DE)
Malcolm Jenkins (S)
Walter Thurmond (CB)
Zane Beadles (OG)
Anthony Collins (OT)
Danario Alexander (WR)
I take into consideration that we are not going to resign Hatcher, Ware's gone after testing the market and it doesn't matter if we resign Spencer cheap or not. Miles Austin is a June 1st cut and we cut Parnell and Orton for more cap space.
Players I know will help this team and want but will cost:
Jairus Byrd (S)
Micheal Johnson (DE)
If Chris Johnson gets cut I want to look at him.
All insight appreciated.
