Some fan rewrote the iggle fight song lyrics...

Original:
Fly Eagles fly, on the road to victory!
Fight Eagles fight... Score a touchdown 1, 2, 3!
Hit 'em low, hit 'em high, and watch our Eagles fly!
Fly Eagles fly on the road to victory!
E-A-G-L-E-S - Eagles!

New Version:
Cry Eagles cry on the road to mediocrity!
Cry Eagles cry... Score a touchdown 1,2,3?
Hit 'em high, hit'em low, but in the end they could not go!
Cry Eagles cry on the way to 0 and 16!
B-E-A-G-L-E-S - Beagles! - WOOF!!!

Born and raised in Philly. Lifelong Boys fan since the 60's..... Relatives very quite today... Normally multiple phone calls, texts, nasty pictures ( dog dumping on star) come after a Philly win. :):)

A downhill runner is what his system may require but he's stubbornly trying to attack the ends laterally instead, in an attempt to wear opposing defenses down. He's far from being the genius he's been reputed to be. Your right about that anemic interior of his OL. They won't allow a downhill runner to run downhill if their life depends on it.

Yeah, they have a downhill RB, and a downhill OL, and a downhill coach -- hell, the whole team is goin downhill.

  • Byron Maxwell commented after the game that the reason why he gave up that final touchdown to Williams was that he was "only human" and "tired." This has enraged the fan base here.
  • As far as the opinion on Demarco Murray, no one seems to be throwing him under the bus - almost every fan is blaming the poor offensive line play and the design of Chip Kelly's east-west running scheme not being a proper fit. Interesting footnote: from what I remember, that same scheme killed us in a few games over the past 2 years, with McCoy tearing it up and/or the play-action catching us out of position. What a difference Sean Lee makes! Also, give Marinelli some credit for finally adjusting.
Maxwell illustrates the problem with Kelly's offensive philosophy. You can afford to rush to the line on offense if you're able to move the ball consistently. If not, you're going to kill your defense. Fatigure makes cowards of us all.

I thought Murray was an odd choice for Philly's scheme because he succeeded in Dallas as more of a traditional, north-south back. The move to trade McCoy then turn around and pick up Murray really didn't make sense to me.

I haven't read most of the board today but the Maxwell play is puzzling. I was not a fan of the signing at all this offseason. He was the 4th best secondary player in Seattle and had a lot of advantages playing in that system and with that team. He was torched in week one with Julio Jones. I know PHilly likes to leave their CB's at one on one a lot but it seemed like that skinny post was open all game long. Very easy catch and throws for a lot of the game. Very odd.

-"Who would you rather be right now, the Cowboys at 2-0, or the Eagles at 0-2?"
-"Oh definitely the Eagles."

-Ike Reese from the Mike and Ike Show

LOLcopter.

I mean, seriously. 0-2 teams make the playoffs about 11% of the time. Weeden, as bad as he was in Cleveland, still won about one in every three or four games. If he can keep that pace, the team will be 4-5 by the time Romo gets back.

I was listening to WIP last night. It's one of my favorite things to do after an Eagles loss.

The WIP at night after an Eagles loss is comedic gold. To be honest, there are a lot of intelligent calls on the WIP (on the evening after a loss), but what is so funny is that each call has a thinly veiled sense of "can you tell me where Chip Kelly lives so I can bomb his house with his kids in it?" And the host has a thinly veiled response of "I wish I knew so I could tell you and help you bomb his house with his kids in it."

I heard the Byron Maxwell comments and they were stunning.

But what kills me is that Eagles fans really bought into this team being a Super Bowl team because they dominated preseason.

right...there is reason Maxwell was exhausted...lol

I know we all have a hangover from the Romo injury, but I can tell you that it's nowhere near the abyss that the fandom in Philly is waking up to this Monday morning.

I thought I'd pass on a few nuggets:

  • Byron Maxwell commented after the game that the reason why he gave up that final touchdown to Williams was that he was "only human" and "tired." This has enraged the fan base here.

  • The most common description of their prized QB Bradford is "deer in the headlights." It's actually funny hearing them say that Weeden seems to be a better QB than Bradford.

  • They just interviewed Demeco Ryans and asked him about the Romo injury. Specifically, is he heartened that Romo will be out for several weeks? Even though he didn't cause the injury, did he take pleasure in hits like that in the past, knocking out a key player? His response was interesting: "Nah, man. As hard as you play and as much as you want to hit hard, you never want to see anyone get hurt, on your team or theirs - especially with great players."

  • They conducted a poll at the radio station. After preseason game 3, 60% of the fan base said Chip Kelly was a genius. Today, 80% have lost faith in him. There was not one single fan who called in to defend him this morning.

  • Of course, the Philly fan base blame their own poor play on the loss more than the impressive performance by the Dallas defense (as we tend to do after a loss). However, they have given props to Sean Lee (a Penn State product), and they actually admire his play.

Just thought that on a day like today, you'd enjoy a side dish of schadenfreude with your eggs and bacon. ENJOY!

Great Stuff! thanks Bullet!
btw lol at them now realizing their line aint even close to ours. i think it was cute at the beginning of the season some people were trying to say their line was better than ours. LO freaking L
