TG has the best skill set by far in ragards to hands, route running and speed, but......

TO's size, strength, speed combination make him one of the toughest WR's to cover in the game.

I believe that if you could have put TG with Peyton Manning instead of Marvin Harrison there would be very little difference in the careers of the two.

Poor Terry Glenn. His abilities restrict him to terra firma along with the rest of the mortal receivers--while Owens' abilities keep him aloft in the heavens among the angelic receivers. Unfortunately for Owens, his nickname's Lucifer and he'll eventually get himself kicked out of paradise. :(

Sigh. What a horrible situation to be in where you have two receivers that are good enough that they could be a #1 receiver on other teams and easily make one of the top tandems in the NFL.

I was thinking the very same thing. TG and Harrison are very similar.

TO and TG compliment each other very well. A better OL, a better Romo, a defense that can give the ball to the offense more often, and a TO that hopefully can catch the ball should make that tandem at or near the top of WRs in the game.

Winning makes everyone look great.

I didn't say it was THE reason, I said you could argue that reasoning, and it is a very valid argument. The question still remains: Would Glenn be as productive as the go to guy with a lesser WR playing the #2 role? Would he be as productive drawing the attention of a #1 reciever, being doubled play in and play out? Recent history indicates that he isn't as productive when double teamed, so he needs someone to take the pressure off and use his advantages against man on man coverages.

You didn't say you could argue that it was A reason or ONE OF the reasons, you said you could argue it was the reason (I only capitalized it before to emphaisize what you wrote, and capitalized or not, you wrote "the").

I'll accept it if that's not what you meant - that's cool - but it is what you wrote.

Good point, but please remember one thing!

A huge gulf will always exist talent-wise between both receivers. Enormous. Humongous even.:

Huge, humongous and enormous huh ....... ?

There isn't that kind of gulf between anyone and the stats TG put up last year.

As I said before, you do have to look at the body of the careers and see that TO hasa consistently been a better WR, but lets not make this sound like the difference between Jerry Rice and Kelvin Martin.

umm, Stautner? That was me being sarcastic about some of the responses on this thread which did infer that there is a huge gulf in receiving talent between both players. While, on occasion, you will read me as saying (accurately, imo) that Owens is still a premier wide receiver, you will never read any serious comments from me stating that Owens' abilities drawf that of Glenn's or many other receivers. Uh uh. No way, man.

If wish people would give Terry Glenn some freakin' credit. I hate JFE (no pun intended) as much as the next guy, but she's right here. So is KC Joyner. And this has nothing to do with statistics.

With both QBs last season, I cringed every time the ball was thrown to TO. If the ball was thrown at Glenn, no matter if it seemed to be within his reach or not, I got excited because I felt he'd find a way to make the catch.

I even remember one writer (not sure who) wrote an article last season and when TO dropped a pass that seemed difficult, but no one in the press box was sure whether to call it a drop or not. He said they looked at each other and said "Would Glenn have caught that?" To which the box responded "Yes." So they deemed it a drop.

I honestly hope TO has the most amazing year ever for a WR. I'm a Cowboys fan through and through and as long as TO wears a STAR on his helmet, I'll root for him. BUT, Glenn is a better receiver. He runs better routes and has better hands, arguably the best on the team. As for TO, he is good at what he does because when he gets the ball, he's impossible to bring down, BUT the man doesn't run crisp routes and has never been automatic catching the ball.

I will have to agree mostly here with you. I think Terry Glenn as of today is grossly underrated as a wide receiver. Last year, TG was better than TO for much the reason you mention.

This is where I have a little lateral on the issue and that is the question of whether TG is better than TO when TO is at his best? The answer is definately no, but that is alot to ask of any wide receiver, even real good ones like TG.

I apologize for not realizing ......

If I was more familiar with you as a poster I may have realized, but as silly as your post sounds, I'm sure you will agree that some posters write stuff like that and believe it.

I'm glad to know you aren't in that category.
