Did anyone catch how the game ended though? The Rams, after recovering the Warner fumble and running the obligatory 3 running plays straight into the stacked Cardinals front in order to run off time, still had to punt away with :05 left on the clock. They did so, but the Cards were offsides on the play. The Cards' Troy Walters alertly called for the fair catch, which set up the very obscure free kick opportunity for the Cardinals, even though the ball was going to be on their own 42, making it about a 75 yard FG attempt for Rackers.
However, this would have been a completely uncontested FG attempt w/ no rush from the Rams as per the free kick rule, and with Rackers's leg and accuracy, who knows if they pull off a miracle (or if he severely injures his groin trying to make it, LOL).
Talk about questionable officiating coupled with one team's sorry legacy however---after the Rams initially decline the penalty on the Cardinals (presumably because Linehan was ignorant to the free kick rule in that circumstance) but then see that the Cards are getting a FG attempt w/ :00 on the clock---they let the Rams change their mind and accept the penalty, giving them an untimed down after the 5 yards for offsides are walked off. Bulger kneels, game over. Still don't get how the Cards got jobbed there.
