Lock them out.

Here's a PR move for both sides,,, how about you split that "extra billion dollars" 3-ways with the fans, lower your ticket prices and cut about half of those endless TV commercials out. You're ruining the game and the fans the ones getting reamed in this deal.

Forward this to goodell, the owners and the players filling suit.

The idea of average joes standing up to billionaires seems to come up whenever supply/demand is an issue. Quite frankly, the NFL has the supply, and lowering demand far enough to make a difference to them is a pipe dream.

Hard to justify spending $400 dollars for average seats at a Cowboy game during the regular season when I spent $175 for great seats to the World Series. I know what the OP is saying and I agree 100%. Prices are ridiculous, the greed is ridiculous on BOTH sides, but IMO, especially the owners. At the same time I sympathize with those that will be really upset with no football (if that so happens) this coming fall, I was there not so long ago, but over the past two years the league's greed and the ridiculous drama surrounding many players and the media have really made me take a step back from the level of devotion to the league I once had. Will always remain a Cowboy fan, but I won't be spending any money on them anytime soon, at least not till prices come down.

Prices will come down when beach property comes down.

I read this from a post over on NYGiants.com by BigBlue58

I happen to agree with this. As much as I do in fact love football, I can safely say the longer I go without the easier it will get. Suddenly Sundays won't be days where I'm screaming at the television.

I think I'd be willing to quit watching it altogether if I get fed up enough. Thoughts?

I say we lock em out and send them prank calls nightly.

It's fun to stand up and say "boycott the product".

But most people simply don't have the fortitude to follow through.

We'll see.

I side with the players on this. They didn't hide the strike insurance, they didn't hide their books and they are the ones sacrificing their bodies. The owners are a bunch of arrogant, selfish jerks that use public welfare for their business and then jack the prices beyond what the average family can afford.

Oh I'll make good on this deal, trust me.

If the 2011 season is missed you won't see another post from me.

I hope that's not the case. I find your name and avatar to be amusing. Thousands of Dallas Cowboys-themed names (including my own) and then there's a guy who calls himself a plastic container. Makes me laugh a little every now and then.

I would not lose any sleep over a lock out. Football is fun to watch and I love the Cowboys but to be honest with you I've been losing interest in the game for the last 2-3 years. Lock them out I'm sure only the crazy Fans will cry, everybody else would go on with their lives just fine.

There is absolutely no way, IMO, that enough fans will stand up and refuse to go to games, refuse to watch, refuse to buy merch in order to get the attention of these folks.

The fans really do hold the ultimate power if the fans could be united to refuse to watch and stuff, there by refusing them their ability to make all this money they're fighting over, but it's, as someone already accurately pointed out, a pipe dream.

There is no way enough fans will stop in order to make the players and owners and league feel it and those small pockets of fans who do are only taking football away from themselves and really doing nothing to anyone.

This.

Boycotts are bandied about all the time, but frankly, they probably never even amount to more than 1% of the entire fanbase.

To make the owners or players notice anything, you'd probably have to make a 20% or 40% shortfall of absence - and that just is never happening.

Every now-and-then while reading the forum, my faith in folks' sense of logic wavers for a nanosecond. Luckily, my faith is fully restored each time after reading posts like these.

Thanks. :)
