I hope yas venture out to San Antonio and/or the rivers near there. The Riverwalk is a good place for dinner, it isn’t too far away.

I prefer Terry Black’s over Blacks bbq. Terry is pit bbq whereas Blacks is rotisserie style. Both are very good though.

Make the short trip to seguin and have burnt bean for bbq. It’s some of the best, if not best, in the state.

I prefer Terry Black’s over Blacks bbq. Terry is pit bbq whereas Blacks is rotisserie style. Both are very good though.

I also like Kreuz BBQ, but I haven't there in years.

There’s 3 main BBQ joints there in the BBQ Capitol of the World. All of them are excellent. Use to be a big balloon festival once a year but not sure if it’s still going after the accident. Going south from Lockhart is some really beautiful South Texas country. I’ve driven the route from Austin to Rockport hundreds of times going through there and it’s always a beautiful drive.

I grew up in the Texas Hill Country and have made that drive many times as well.

I mean no disrespect, but I would never describe that drive as beautiful... maybe "nice" in the early spring when the wild flowers are blooming. Now, I do like the Rockport area quite a bit.

Hwy 183 going SE from Lockhart. Beautiful but I grew up in South Texas so I’m biased.

My son-in-law lives there, and he says Terry Blacks is the best.

Chisolm Trail has a ton of sides, according th Dinlaw. Kreuz is also good.

We drive through there all the time, I think it's gorgeous.
