Watching Total Access. Osi, some Giants and Roger Goodell are overseas visiting the troops.

The host, the dreadul Fran Charles, asks Osi about the soldiers all wanting to try on his Super Bowl ring.

He says yeah there are a lot of Giants fans over there, but..

THERE ARE A LOT MORE COWBOYS FANS!!!

:laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

great that he said that but laughing at someone who is doing something nice for our troops is out of line.

just my opinion, I saw the same segment that you did, and no matter how much I hate Osi he is doing something morally right and I am not gonna laugh at him for it, no matter what he says.

No one is laughing at Osi, just the fact that more Boyz fans were in the house. By the way, the DCC have been doing "something morally right" for three decades now.

Sometimes you REALLY miss the context things are posted in. :(

Nobody is laughing at Osi.

I get the context, just don't agree with it being appropriate.

I watched the segment and heard what he said.

I said what I wanted, I leave it up to your interpretation as to what I meant.

and what is that? that you assume we are laughing at Osi or that the troops said there were more Cowboy fans?

lighten up... those soldiers chose their profession, its not they woke up one morning and were like "holy cow, I cannot believe that damn US Gov't would put my *** in harm's way". They are doing their job, and we are all proud of them for they provide a service that not all of us can do, but they are not made of glass otherwise we should all worry.

My brother and my nephew are scheduled to go in two months, and we wish them the best until they return. The last thing they want is for people to be weird with them, and honestly it is just natural for us to be very light and joke about it.

Where do you live, Mars?

Way to take something very innocent and try to turn it into a debate on whether we should be laughing at a simple segment on a TV show.

Give it up already.

And don't just get off the high horse, throw yourself off ASAP.

Why can't people just take a minute to stop, take a breath and crack a smile anymore? Because someone like you comes along and over analyzes every little thing on the planet looking for an argument or a way to put yourself on higher moral ground or force your opinions on others or try to make a change for the good of all mankind.

Man o man, some people.

and...? the majority of us have friends in Iraq. the majority of us have lost friends in Iraq. hell, a good friend of mine and his twin brother were killed in an accident last year by a drunk driver. does that make my opinion more valuable than anyone else's? no!

I'm really not trying to be an ***, but seriously. we've all had trageties in our lives. what was said was obviously not meant to hurt anyone, so just leave it at that.

I'm sorry what just happened here? No one was being laughed at personally in this thread.

He wasn't laughing at Osi, or the troops, just the really funny situation of Osi being a Giant and finding a lot more Cowboys fans over there.

There was nothing in this topic to get upset over and nothing that put down anyone.

I really don't even see what you're getting bent about at all. Are you just upset cause a topic that said anything about troops was posted? If you're that sensitive about it then I'd imagine you should probably lock yourself in a dark room and not come out until there is no need for military in the world.

Sorry to hear that about your three friends, and this is how you are dealing with it. Thats ok.

I did not lose three friends over there as many of us probably hasn't, but does that mean I respect what they do any less? no. A loss changes a person and only to them is that change right or wrong.

but when you post your feelings on the matter on a public forum, and you claim them to be the only way everyone else should feel leaves that door wide open for criticism because you are in effect saying everyone else's opinion is dumb and inferior.
We all know what we post is just an opinion, so we ready ourselves for the good and the bad, people who agree and people who don't agree alike. It is in America that when we express an opinion that involves a soldier in Iraq that alot of people all of a sudden become real touchy and uptight.

So again, it is a shame to see anyone lose a life in the act of war, but it is what it is and without war, we would have no freedom.

Whatever team they root for, we all pray for their safe return.

That said, it is humorous that the majority root for the Cowboys. When I was in the service, we had a sort of Dallas Cowboys fan club and would get tapes of the games sent and share them around. I can't remember fans of any other team doing that.
