Atlanta receives 6th pick overall

Browns recieve 27th overall pick
2nd round pick (59)
4th round pick (124
2012 1st round & 4th round pick

I like Julio Jones, but I certainly don't think he's the Second Coming. In fact, A.J. Green > Julio Jones.

My gosh, why did they have to jump that high up. I don't think the Titans or the 49ers were considering him.

What an ignorant trade.

This potentially bodes well for us in trade down scenarios though. The Falcons vastly overpaid.

Can you expand on why you think so? In terms of how it bodes well for us.

Off the top of my head, that's the closest thing to a Herschel Walker trade I've seen in awhile.

If the falcons are one piece away and they feel jones is that piece. By the chart IF they win it all they are only 72 points away from the value of the number 6 pick, basically a mid 4th rounder. If they finish about the same it cost them a mid 3rd round pick.

IIRC the Cowboys would have had the #6 pick if they would have lost that meaningless last game of the season when the Eagles played their 3rd and 4th stringers and did everything they could to throw the game without making it too obvious.

Yet Garrett wasn't smart enough to figure it out that you actually win by losing that last meaningless game.

No kidding. I think this is totally stupid.

And the Fan or the Ticket, whichever, were saying they really wanted Green. So not only did they pay a fortune, they paid a fortune for their second choice.

Yeah I can the thing I know is that the team shouldn't just tank a game for the sake of getting a top draft pick.

I'll take a win any day of the week if you don't like the Tyron Smith pick that's fine.

THAT IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT. He hates Smith.

Sorry, but that wasn't a win against the Eagles. The Eagles didn't even show up. The Cowboys won by default.

I got nothing against the Smith pick. I hope he is everything the top OT and 9th pick in the draft should be.

He wouldn't have been my first choice and I definitely would have rather had what Atlanta was offering at the 6th pick where we should have/could have been.

I live in NE Ohio, so the Browns are my second team. When I saw that they had traded that far down, I thought, "They'd better get a lot for it". Boy, did they. Great trade by Tom Heckert.

At least he's not picking for the Eagles anymore. They had some excellent drafts under him...& I hated him for it. Now, he's on one of my teams, so he's O.K. ;)

Makes me feel even better that Dez fell into our lap last year

we need to hire the Cleveland GM quick....actually I am kidding....but the Atlanta GM is quite foolish. You don't sell the farm for an impotent bull....that wont make you any money in return....

What a dumb arse trade for Atlanta. Julio Jones is good, but he aint that good. The dude has hands of stone, dropped a ton of passes. Not exactly who I sell the farm for.

they had the worst first round IMO.

although vikes and titans were **** to... but they didn't lose as much.
