Had to share this....From today's New Orleans Times-Picayune, page B-6. They actually published this (it will probably be included on the website tomorrow):

When the Dallas Cowboys came to town back in mid-December, I was disheartened to see all the Cowboys fans in the Superdome.

The only way they could get tickets was from Saints season ticket holders who cashed in their tickets to make a dollar.

In the future, if you are a true fan, please resist the temptation to make a quick buck. Go to the game to support the Black and Gold.

If you have to sell, remember, there are plenty of Saints fans on the season ticket waiting list who would love to be in that number.

Let's not give the visiting team an opportunity to negate our home-field advantage.

Well according to the media, some said the Superdome was louder than they had ever heard it that night, so I don't think it took away their "advantage". But I'm hoping we are strong in numbers in the Metrodome this weekend! I'm seeing a TON of tickets for sale, and I've got mine! Well, I hope I get mine, I haven't gotten ship confirmation yet, and I need them by Friday!

I can understand that. IMO, a season ticket holder should lose their seats for selling to fans of the opposing team. My boss has Cowboys season tickets and gave his seats to Commanders fans during the Washington game. I was disgusted. The fan in question is our secretary and her husband, but knowing they were Commanders fans he should have never sold them to her for that game.

I've been all over the Saints board lurking ever since the week before our match up. They hate us more than one can imagine. A close look tells you it's mostly jealousy and insecurity.

Take it from a Cowboy fan who has had to live around them for quite a long time: YES.

This is no different than Dallas fans whining because the Steeler fans took over Texas Stadium a few years ago.

I wasn't aware that this was standard practice. How can someone know to whom they are selling their ticket if they just sell it through Stub Hub or through an anonymous transaction??

If only "true" fans went to Saints games then the Superdome would be half empty. Most of the Saints fans now are bandwagon guys. They popped up out of nowhere when the Saints had a good season in 2006. There was not a large number of "true" Saints fans before that. Kind of like the sudden influx of Cardinals fans this year.

Saints fans are really just ex Cowboys fans in denial. Besides if you go outside of New Orleans you will find nothing but Silver and Blue love. I'm not even kidding, Louisiana is COWBOYS COUNTRY.

It used to be mostly empty!

Not too long ago on Thursday mornings (trying to beat the noon blackout deadline), the local radio and TV affiliate would beg corporate sponsors to buy blocks of tickets to give away so Saints fans could "put their feet up on the sofa and watch the game!" (Their actual words)

An unprecedented 13 straight wins was probably one hell of a high, of course they're going to hate the team that not only brought them down, but might come back and do it again.

If you're talking about Saints report, you couldn't be more RIGHT! Every discussion about the playoffs turns into a Dallas discussion. And then of course there are the threads about "why does dallas get all of this hype? we're 13-3." They're in denial of how average they have been since beating a fairly average Patriots team. And my personal favorite is the conspiracy in the NFL to get Dallas to the superbowl. They had a game day thread for the Cowboys and Eagles game in which the refs were giving the Cowboys the game. It just comes off as sad, envious people who realize that 13-0 was eons ago but don't want to admit it.

Living near New Orleans, I know tons of people like that. One guy I work with actually said, "If the Saints beat New England, I guess I will put my Saints flags up on my Tahoe." He wouldn't even show he was a fan of them until they won what was thought at the time to be a big win.

Of course we now know that the supposed "big" victory over the Patriots was nothing more than an illusion. For that matter, we now know their victories over the Eagles and the Giants were no big deal as well, and that their losses against Dallas and Tampa Bay are more indicative of where they are as a team.

The close wins against such stalwarts as the Commanders and Carolina show about where that stinking franchise is.

These bandwagon fans around here want to harp on 13-3? Well, they can hang their hat on that all they want... but I don't expect them to make it past Arizona.

The awesome part is: When they lose and their season ends in bitter disappointment, all the fair weather, front-running ******** will stow away their ugly black and gold gear until the next time that franchise gets their hopes up.

The New Saints fans I know are thumping their chests about 13-3, but the long time old Saints fans are bracing for the worst, actually they are expecting a loss.

Yes.

They could be up by 24 points with 5 minutes to go in the game, and they're still thinking: OK, how are we going to lose this thing?

:saints: << That's for any Aints fans that might be looking in!

Yup. They had a 3-4 page thread titled "that was an int" (referring to the reversed int in our game) that was going strong on their first page as late as Monday. ... mind you this was seperate from their 10+ page boys/eagles game thread. These guys are really wild man.
