I can see that as logical. But I can’t get past the problem with Ty Smith. Hope I’m wrong, but I think he’s done. He’s been so great for so long I think too many of our fans take the LT position for granted.I think that you well illustrate the point that this team - even as currently built - can turn things around in a hurry. If the injured offensive players come back and play to their past standards, this offense can quickly and easily get back to scoring 35 points a game - which they were with Dak. When you have that, all you need is competent defense to win games. I don't feel it requires reinventing the wheel, or totally rebuilding the defense, in order to accomplish that.
If Smith either isn’t back next year, or is only back at say 50% of what he once was, coupled with the weakness at LG, our whole left side of the OL is a problem. That doesn’t mean the whole offense will be bad, but it does make the idea that this offense is a juggernaut come into question a little in my mind.
