If more kids were raised by people like your Father, the world would be a better place.

Chuckle... my old man was a 20 year Army man, and for a time, a drill sergeant... so you can imagine how I was raised...

He was also the best friend I ever had, he supported every little hobby I ever took a fancy to... but I knew from a very young age not to cross the line...

And lo and behold, here I am 57 years later, and never have felt a pair of handcuffs on my wrists... so whatever he did, it must have worked...

Thanks, Dad... :D

I wanted Parcells to get him years ago, but that ship has sailed.

not no, but HELL NO.

Beat me to it... I'd give Joe a hard time even for asking, but I'm pretty sure that he'd say the same...

Not only is he a piece of garbage, I don't believe he's got any game left...

Ya we should take a look at him.....Take a look at him saying good bye to what's left of his career. What a total idiot. He's a half hearted washed up RB and now add pariah to the mix. I suppose someone will bring him in next seaon, maybe even this year because that's the NFL and that's the problem. Then you have people defending this *** clown.

OK, that's a bit more reasonable take on the subject... political correctness can be taken too far...

Not in this case, though... this is just another example of Larry Johnson being a card-carrying punk... he has a history of punk behavior... if this were his first offense, then I'd say accept his apology, and forget it, hope it was aberrant behavior... but when somebody demonstrates a pattern of antisocial behavior, you start to think that maybe he's a sociopath...

Larry Johnson seems to have a problem with gays, and with women...

Where will he find love?

Understand where you're coming from completely - I was raised by a 24-year career Army father. No substitute for high standards in my household, haha.

Maybe not so coincidentally I find myself serving in the Army now. Birds of a feather? :)

The Chiefs have taken the initiative to deal with the issue, but don't rule out the league taking a gander as well. If he's made seriously derogatory comments about particular groups as well as his coach, this might be viewed as conduct detrimental to the league. That might be stretch in terms of political correctness, but don't think for a minute that Goodell isn't watching.

My post wasn't 100% about Johnson it started that way but I got lost along the way.

I'm just tired of stupid groups running the show everywhere and in the process making anything you say, that isn't scripted by a lawyer and approved by a dozen other people, something that can cost you your job.

As a person I don't care for him at all but I do stand behind it being a stupid reason to lose your job regardless of the person. Period.

People seriously need to stand back and get over themselves and realize words have NO power until you give it to them.

The irony of your words as it pertains to the poster you quoted is brilliant.

I don't understand the complaint with him being cut for this. Sure he's allowed to say whatever he likes. There is freedom of speech. No one said he couldn't say anything he wanted to.

The people who run the Chiefs by the same token are also allowed to cut him, fine him, not deal with him if they don't like or agree with something he said. It's their right as well.

He can say anything and everything he wants to. No one is going to tell him he can't. But there are consequences to what you say and do and you've got to live with those as well.

I honestly think that they have contemplated cutting him for a while and are using this Twitter incident as a catalyst for his exit.

Exactly.

If he were putting up the numbers he was a few years ago, he'd still get heat for what he said , but the team wouldn't be looking to dump him.
