Show me one time in 27 years the Cowboys won on luck or caught a break in the playoffs.
That is my point. I don’t know how old you are but the 92 team got lucky on the first play against San Francisco they threw a bomb to Rice for a touchdown. The refs called a bs holding penalty and the whole game changed. That was luck.

Perhaps if the Cowboys lost giving up less than 20, but the Jags put a 40 burger on them.

Zach Wilson looks worse than Sam Darnold did for the Jets. They’re probably wishing they hung onto Geno Smith who they took in the second round in 2013.

These threads never make much sense to me.

"Don't worry guys, we just lost to a good team on the level of teams we'll face in the playoffs"

No one cared when Philly struggled for 3 weeks straight against weaker teams.

We just need to close out with some momentum. I'm not ready to say we've fizzled out, but the defense does appear to be on that path. Hopefully they make adjustments and clean it up.

Philly has 1 loss to a scrappy Commanders team. We have 4 losses, 1 to the freakin' Bucs and 1 to Green Bay along with us struggling against the worst team in the league to follow up and lose to Jags who got their butts whooped by the Lions a couple weeks back.

Sugarcoating from homers is always cute.

It was the biggest issue!! Anyone without Rose Colored glasses could see it.
Jacksonville gained 500 yards of Offense with almost 200 yards rushing!!!
They scored 34 points before OT!!

In the 2nd half our Offense was at least kicking FG’s with a big lead, but our D was giving up back to back to back TD’s!!

Dak gets beat over the head for leading his team to 34 points, while this “showtime” defense gets run all over every game, is now giving up a bunch of points, AND there are still a bunch of excuses being made for this mediocre D!!!!
Most would agree that the D is not helping as much as they were.
Losing key pieces has not helped.
Q gets the focused blame, but willing to give him a chance to sort out this mess he has currently.
At least post-season play is still a few weeks away, and good coaches figure out ways to overcome injuries, so not giving up on Q this early.

What bright side? They lost two games they had large leans in to inferior teams and had they won them, they be playing for the #1 seed this weekend against a backup QB. All we really know about this team is that it’s exactly the same as every year and will get run over in the playoffs by whoever they face. No heart or killer instinct. Most of the time, the entire team looks like they’re waiting for someone else to make a play!

After the Jags whooped arse on the Jets tonight, they and the Titans both have 7 wins, however the Titans are screwed because reports are out that Tanny is done for the season after his ankle did a 360 against the Chargers, OUCH!

Got to give Tanny credit, he got balls, his whole foot was taped up from his toes to his freaking knee and he went back in the game. Dude was playing on what was most likely a fractured ankle, they must have shot him up with the good stuff for him to go back in the game.

So, it looks like the Jags are going to cruise to the division title now, so our loss doesnt look that bad in hindsight, right

It was never a bad loss. JAGS are legit. If you watch football then you already knew this.

The Jaguars are an ascending team. They've been building a strong foundation and now that Trevor Lawrence has hit his stride it's showing up for them with four wins in a row.

There's no shame in Dallas losing to them, it's HOW they lost to them that makes fans livid.

That’s not necessarily true. You just have to get hot at the right time. So many New York Giants teams have proven that wildcard just get hot in the playoffs.

I dont believe you have the mental make up to win in the playoffs if you are ok with losing. Esp if you are a talented team. They might play better for another game but that energy typically dies out fast. Year after year the leaders on this team have proven this true. Outside of micah we've not seen any of them really care about a loss.

The Cowboys could end up with a lot of wins over playoff teams.

Does momentum really matter? Tennessee and Green Bay were red hot and both got booted after a bye. The Rams got embarrassed at home by San Francisco and they won the Super Bowl. It’s about matchups. This Philadelphia game is meaningless.

Do you think stumbling into the playoffs like we did last year was a recipe for success? We are in a similar situation this year with a late season slump. Just getting by bad teams, and even getting beat by supposedly inferior teams. (Packers, Jags)

We need to get on a roll and start playing inspired football. Call it momentum, winning streak, attention to detail, ramping up the intensity, whatever...just start showing the fans (and the team itself) that you can and will do whatever it takes to win. We are all tired of the 3 decades of blah, blah, blah. It is the time of the year where we need to play our best.

The Cowboys won 4 of their last 5 going into the playoffs. They struggled in the middle of the season. The Cowboys were hot just played a better team in the playoffs.

The level of play for teams does not remain static. We're not playing at as high a level as we were, especially on defense. But Jacksonville also isn't playing like the team that lost 6 of its first 8 games. The Jaguars' record today doesn't reflect how they are playing. Unfortunately, neither does ours.
That's very true.

In fact, I would say that their quarterback's performance over the past 3-4 games suggest a very steep trend in a very good direction. I was looking more at the perception of the NFL as a whole and their opinion on which direction the Cowboys are trending. It isn't good.

If the Cowboys were as good as they are supposed to be, a true contender, then they would have put the Jags recent trend on "pause" for a week. Instead, they are one of the steppingstones used in describing the Jaguar storyline.

The Cowboys storyline appears as though, shortly after the postseason begins, the blog images and sports magazines covers will depict the Cowboys players looking dejected as the other team scores.

That can change but it would require a pretty significant change to how the team seems to be trending.

Might matter some, but it's grossly overrated.
