Saints quarterback Drew Brees said Texas A&M redshirt sophomore QB Johnny Manziel will "absolutely" be a starter in the NFL.

"He's got all the playmaking ability to be a great player," Brees said. "[There are] guys like [Manziel] in this league. Russell Wilson and his ability to run the football and extend plays outside the pocket and throw the ball down the field. Intermediate [routes], I mean he can do it all." The 6-foot-1 Manziel is expected to forgo his final two seasons of eligibility and enter the 2014 NFL Draft. "I think the physical qualities are not nearly as important as the psychological qualities of playing the quarterback position," Brees said. "Certainly you have to have some level of throwing ability and fundamentals and that kind of thing. But speed, height, arm strength those things are way overrated when playing the quarterback position."

If that proves to be true, then not only does Manziel have the better on field accomplishments, his primary competitor has done something 1000x worse off the field than Manziel's ever done.

Worse certainly; but then Manziel has a PATTERN of stupidity and arrogance; Winston does not- so its much more likely he is not guilty. But you never know. The Rapist was able to hide his nature for quite a while.

Romo is much bigger. He's probably 2 or 3 inches bigger and at least 20 lbs heavier I'd say.

Breez is probably a better comparison IMO.

At least you qualified this with "if that proves to be true".

This is just grand-standing on a guy who has now become famous on a year-old accusataion that never proved valid..and a case that everyone assumed had been closed due to totally terrible evidence

For example, the lady who had been partying at an apartment complex said the accussed was between 5-9 and at most 5-11..and was about 240 lbs...so a shorter fat guy.
Winston is 6'4, 216. Very tall, fairly thin guy. This thing was dropped until there became an opportunity for someone to get some press.

Anyway, for a guy with a such a good rep in all areas of his life, Winston does not deserve people drawing assumptions on stuff like this.

i agree that prior to this coming out, he had a clean rep. Hopefully this isn't true. But if the girl was drunk at the time, it would make sense to me that she might not be able to totally remember things like relative height, etc. Who knows. If it even makes it to trial, I'm guessing it won't be provable, regardless whether he's guilty or innocent.

We even have another thread on this very site dedciated to him being investigated. The Dallas Morning News had it in big block letters a couple fo days ago. Regardless of the outcome, there will always now be those with questions--which really sucks. It it was my son, and he had none nothing, I would be so ticked off.
If he is totally innocent, he should be able to sue.

now they have dna evidence linking him , no idea if it was rape or consensual but this will probably damage his draft stock either way
