Looking at the big picture means just get in playoffs

No matter how it;s done whether it;s a division title or wildcard since all teams are 0-0 once the playoffs start. And we already know field advantage is overrated since three wildcard teams have won the SB since 2009

Steelers-2008
Packers-2010
Giants 2011

So the goal is to get in and play ball once it starts and not care where the game is especially since this team has not been in the playoffs in 5 years. At this point a division title would be a bonus and a wildcard should be fine with all of us based on playoff history.

Agree??

I thinks that called settling.

Im saying that we should not get caught up in the division race because the BIG PICTURE is to get in

If we win the division fine but if not then as long as we get in no playoffs it should not be any frustration

Well win the division and we are in. If we try and win the division and fall short then we may get a wildcard. So why not go for the division?

I just think it's going to be hard because the eagles have a WEAK schedule in december. Maybe seattle can beat them but other than that the deadskins and giants will probably lose so that;s why I started looking at the big picture. We are starting to run out of time, especially if they win in GB

They win out and they are the NFC East Champs. They just need to win games and they'll get in.

you said that like it's a easy thing. Beat the Eagles twice in 2 weeks and then the Colts.

One more cowboys loss and eagles win and that will probably kill the division hopes

Weak schedule? Let's look at our remaining 6 games and their remaining 7:

* Two are against each other so that's obviously a draw.
* We each play at NY and at Washington so that's another draw.
* They play at Green Bay which is the hardest match up for anyone in the NFL right now.
* They play the Seahawks who are on a 3 game winning streak.
* The play the Titans which should be an easy win.
* We play at Chicago which looks like an easy win right now.
* And we play the Colts who have a very soft schedule and don't look that great.

"Settling" is a pretty stretched term to use, considering that this team, right now, stands a very real chance of not even making the playoffs at all.

The OP is right; get into the playoffs first, then let's talk.

A division title was never a prerequisite to achieving our goal. I really like this team's chance of bringing home another championship. With good health, I feel assured our Boys can do it. So cheers to good health, go Cowboys! :flagwave:

I disagree. Philly with GB this week and Seattle next, could very well be 1 full game behind us by the time we face off on thanksgiving. I could easily see them having a three game losing streak. I do not think philly is as good as some have expressed on this board. You can only rely on ST for so long to bail them out. Sanchez, like all other backups will come back to earth and remind everyone why he is not a starting QB.

Step 1: qualify for the playoffs
Step2: win division
Step 3: get bye
Step 4: get hfa

Step 5: win a playoff game after one of the above steps
Step 6: glee follows
(you get the pattern for Step 7 and beyond)
