Looking at the Cowboys record the last 5 Years by month

IMO, the number of “real haters” was much greater in the 70s and 90s when we were dominant. I kind of like it when the real hate comes flying at the Cowboys because it means we’re winning. I have some family and friends who are either Denver or Filly fans and their “hate” for us has decreased the last two decades. My bro in law and cousins both think it’s because we aren’t as good as we used to be.

Same reason I hate the Football Team and Giants less than I used to...Eagles hate will always remain.

My WFT and E-girls hate will always exceed any other because they were my first. Especially the Wash Football whatevers. The rivalry we had with them from 1970-mid 90s was unparalleled.

Interesting stuff. I just know that I would like to be able to enjoy a win on Thanksgiving. Hopefully this season.

November storylines since 2017:

• 2017 - Tyron Smith injured, Zeke Suspended. Offense dies. 2-3 record
• 2018 - LVE and Cooper save the day. 5-1 record.
• 2019 - Team made no improvements and was the beginning of the end. 2-3 record.
• 2020 - Dak injured. Dalton injured. all time bad defense. 1-4 Record.
• 2021 - 1-3. Denver changed defensive scheme from prior weeks and offense didn't adjust. KC basically beat us with one player (Chris Long) wrecking the OL. Raiders just threw it deep against Anthony Brown and got ALL the PIs.

I don't think it's anything about November in particular. I think that's just when attrition sets in and teams adjust to what you've done the first 2 months of the season.

A few of those penalties on Brown were VERY ticky tack. I think one of them the wr grabbed Browns face mask or helmet and pull it down while in the air making the catch.

When looking at how the Cowboys have performed the last 5 years by month, some interesting things pop up:

• The record in September the last 5 years is 10-9.
• The record in October the last 5 seasons has also been 10-9.
• For some reason the month of November has been putrid for the Cowboys the last 5 seasons. Our record in November since 2017 is 10-13.
• Even worse, the Cowboys are 1-4 on Thanksgiving Day games.
• And the month of December, we seem to rebound. The last 5 seasons, we are 15-5 in the month of December.

Some questions:

• Why is November so bad? Is the team flat because of being tired?
• Has the schedule been tougher in November?
• Why has the Thanksgiving Day game performance been so bad?
• Why has December been such a good month?

Your thoughts?

The answer? Half or more of our games in December are against the NFC east. Serious. Check the schedules. Weak division.

But I will say that last year had me hyped more than usual because we normally don’t start out that strong.

Simple, an undisciplined group who couldn't sustain keeping it's nose to the grind.

Culture replaced aggression and sacrifice to a Michael Irvin's level of focus.

Disciplined leadership didn't match the leagues standard of disciplined play. That play and knowledge is set by the coaching staff.

Talent is improved again, and the team leadership has improved to now...let's see where this raises interest now...
