Looking back, was Bledsoe that much of an upgrade?

Over Vinny, They both were tournover machines, Vinny had less to work with and a D were he was constantly playing from behind and he was more mobile than Bledsoe.

I,m not trying to say we would have gone anywhere with Vinny but I wonder if the results would have been the same, What do you think?

yes, he was a major upgrade. So what does that have to do with anything?

No.

Bledsoe was not an upgrade.

Vinny could have put up equal numbers with the improved talent that Bledsoe had to work with.

Yes. He was a large upgrade. We won three more games with the worst Oline in the league, and he had us in position to win three other games if not for idiot kickers. If you look solely at his performance THIS year, you don't see that. But last year, Bledsoe was a big upgrade.

I just don't see it, the three game swing could be contributed to the D alone and I ask you what did Bledsoe do that was so much different Vinny. you would have to admit the overall team was much better last year.

This is not a Flame Bledsoe thread just would like some honest observations.

Bledsoe, as it has now been proven, was the bandaid until Romo or Henson were ready to take the nexst step.

At the time of his signing he was going to be the savior.....

Now to answer your question.....No he was not that much of an upgrade over Vinny. Vinny could at least dodge a few pass rushers.:)

One could argue that Bledsoe played better than Vinny in certain games, usually against inferior teams. I think that gave some people, including me, some false sense of hope with Bledsoe at the helm. But at the end of the day, you are correct in saying Bledsoe was not an upgrade.

(We tried to tell "you know who" this two years ago. ;) )

Never thought Bledsoe represented a huge upgrade over Vinnie. This position was actually stated when we signed Bledsoe but was overwhelmed by the euphoria that was Bledsoe Mania, at the time.

For the money, I'm not certain it was an upgrade at all. JMO of course.

:)

Morning Michael. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

Every one of Bledsoe's stats was better. Individually and W-L. Honestly, what more do you need?

I wonder if anyone could put up the statistics between Bledsoe last year and Vinny the year before, if I remeber correctly Vinny had a pretty good year yardage wise.

Another thing to take into consideration both Glenn and Key got hurt that year.

I need you to look at the fact that the TEAM was better and the fact Bledsoe played with a healthy Glenn and Key all year. I think that would go a long way toward the stats and W-L.

And a worse Oline and a less effective run game.

No... Bledsoe was worse but there will be people that will argue that but they don't have any proof of it... in fact... if anything you can say Bledsoe had better receivers a better line and a better defense and with all that he produce just about the same numbers...

in vinny's time... there was for the most part no JuJo, no Terry Glenn and Key was playing on a knee so bad it need surgery but he put himself at risk to play the rest of the season on one wheel...no marion Barber...he had an awful AL johnson at center a very bad larry allen at guard a very bad Flo at LT a even worse torrin tucker at right tackle and a totally lost gurode at guard.. he had eddie george and anthony thomas as his RB's and some WR named morgan who was gotten in a trade for bryant or was it a price that he had anyway neither could play a lick

and lets not even get into that awful defense... and the awful punter & kicker...

Vinny did a much better job.... but like I said there are those who will tell you different but don't listen cause they haven't a clue or anything to base it upon but their lying (to themselves) eyes.
