Looking elsewhere for coaching

It’s going to be a long several months for fans as this team which has a problem with opening their wallets in the first place tries to navigate out from under what will likely be their first sub-.500 season since 2020. The first step will be to determine what the coaching staff looks like, and then to move on to players to fit their scheme.

Head Coach Hire: Joe Brady, current Bills OC

In our most recent Mike McCarthy Replacement Rankings, Brady wrestled the No. 1 spot away from Detroit’s Ben Johnson, so we roll with him in our initial mock offseason. Brady runs a passing offense that is huge on pre-snap motion (66% this year) and a West Coast attack, which Dak Prescott has run under McCarthy. The run game is a zone scheme, which has worked in Dallas in the recent past.

Brady’s first order of business is bringing in a defensive coordinator, and for that we’ve pegged Dennis Allen. Allen was the DC in New Orleans when Brady cut his teeth in the NFL as an assistant. As DC in New Orleans, he stewarded a top unit that led to him succeeding Sean Payton as head coach.

I like the approach on the outside FAs and draft, going after need positions. However, I feel the RB position is neglected.

Cooper Rush launched a pass directly at Eagles Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who then returned it for a 70-yard pick-six.

Once that happened, it felt like we had a good idea of the way this game was going to go, but Dallas did bounce back on the very next possession.

The Cowboys tied the game at seven with an impressive 12-play, 70-yard drive that ended with a Jalen Tolbert touchdown. It was Tolbert’s seventh of the year, and his third straight week with a score.

________________________________

From that point on, however, Dallas turned it over three more times, scored no points, and Rush threw for just 83 more yards.

Head Coach, that is fully on your shoulders and always claiming fate no longer cuts it.

Defense - They were badly beaten by Barkley and allowed nearly 200 receiving yards in total through the air. DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown left their mark, to be certain.

Every tough team this season, had to just show up and coaching failed...almost all season. This one was drama filled and stunk badly. Game 17 the team now always disappears.

This is on you, Jerry, and your yes - Sir Offensive and Defensive heads.

This is much more on the FO than coaching. While the coaches left much to be desired, compare the lineups of both teams. Philly has much more talent on both sides of the ball, and it showed, especially since our best player on O was out. The difference in talent was about the same as between OU and Tulsa. The score was indicative of that. This falls heavily on the shoulders of the Jones' and McClay. Put a fancy dress on a sow, and it'll still stink.

If i am a hot commodity coach looking to get my first HC gig in 2025, I don't think I am even glancing towards a HC job with the Cowboys.
I'm going to want to bring in my guys to fill in the coaching staff and I certainly don't want a meddling owner telling me how to do my job.

If MM is sacked, JJ is more than likely going with a retread looking to redeem himself. If by some small miracle he goes with a young and up and comer, he's going to be forced into taking a tier 2 coach.

Jerry still has to read the data presented. That, or he is a provider, but a liar as to pride in the sport.

Eisenhower replaced Taft due to principals and ethics. And the last 5 Star was Omar Bradley who retired at William Beaumont Hospital at Fort Bliss. With the 3rd ACR, I was a year on his funeral detail in preparation.

Yeah, they make aggressive trades and use free agency.

The GM actually knows the other players in the league.

It’s such a disadvantage it’s a joke, and they actually had a window of opportunity but blew it by not doing enough. Let’s see them try to build that back one draft at a time.

Exactly. Why would someone with options come here? They won't. It will be a washed out retread like Big Mike or a totally desperate and unqualified newbie (Garrett).

Neglected?? umm for 1 offseason LOL Jerry has almost always had a top RB on this team, 1 time in 2015 used McFadden and RBBC got zeke the next year, and 2024 he rolled with RBBC but truly this is ON MM for the most part, didn't utilize Rico correctly, last year or most of this year, our run game would have been far better if he used rico/tony flip their carry usage IMHP TP is best used a change of pace complement vs the dirty starter carries, and Rico this season if from the PB game on he was given 20 carried game, again this is a different perspective on the run game.

Yes, a draftee was needed and ignored but no guarantee he would have made this better. I blame MM offense, scheme and staffs philosophy. too little too late as they say./ Poor kid would have been buried in this mess. in my opinion i don't think Ezekiel would have been back had last year went different with short yardage appearing bad over Pollard and Ricos misuse, and Hunter ignored after his fumble.it made jerry think Zeke was needed.. again MM fault IMHO

Nah, CC posted an article about upcoming FA and draft, and I'm saying I feel like the RB position move they made for '25 feels like neglect.

He not "THEY:" Unofficial random opinions , rankings, lists, are not coming from the FO.....point?? you are debating unofficial lists' ie mocks and fa list from a SM content creator, saying and its fact, history shows, this front office typically values the RB positions and rarely goes more than a single season without addressing it...that what i tried conveying.
