Yeah let's point out a couple of things he did wrong (which every player in sports has faults) and completely ignore everything else he did. He led the league in rushing. He made nothing plays into something. He kept drives alive. He was a threat out of the backfield and was one of the better pass blockers in the backfield in the NFL. He was a bell cow.

But yeah, those grow on trees. I'm sure McGimp and Randle will easily just slide in that role.

But they won;t. Because they aren't even half as talented as Murray.

I'm not slotting on either side of the argument of signing him. It was a business decision, and hopefully the talent we have can fill that gap.
But lets not disrespect the man either. He was always talented, better than solid, not quite spectacular, and injury prone. With talent around him he's a really good back. Hopefully Randle and McFadden can fill the same role with their various strengths and weaknesses.

Randle doesn't even have the body structure of an every down back. He's a solid back up. I'd roll with McFadden getting 20 carries and give randle 5-8.

If you crawl into Jerry's mind, it's painfully obvious he picked him up because he is a Razorback. The sole reason we reached for Felix Jones. Even stephen made a comment about it regarding McFadden earlier in camp.

However, I am jumping on the DMC train. If he can stay healthy, I am now thinking, he could have a hell of year, out-of-oakland-and-behind-this-line. I think DMC can be the guy. Comeback player of the year type year!

That's the problem. I doubt he ever stays healthy. And if he goes down, our RBs now become Randle and Dunbar. That's not a winning recipe. No defense respects them in the run game and I'd blitz anytime they are in there seeing as they can't protect Romo.
