Why doesn't he just settle for some backup/player-coach role on a team? He'd be the first in a long time. His experience could be passed. Would be a fabulous backup for some team if they needed someone to come off the bench. And he'd actually have time to revel in the glamour that is the attention he both gets and desires so greatly.

Argument for Dallas;
Romo needs guidance and none better than his boyhood idol in the flesh.
Kitna really sucks in comparison and imo isn't much better than what we had last season in noodle arm - we are screwed if Romo goes down again.
We need to fill seats at the new stadium.
We ARE Favre's childhood dream.
No place else would he be capable of receiving as much attention while basically having to do nothing. Not going to bad talk our other players either, so all the attention could be directed towards him and off the more fragile players we have on our team.
Would work nicely for next season if Holmgram is actually our target for head coach after Wade.

Call me crazy but I'd be all for it. In fact, I think it's practically ideal.

Favre would never want to take on that kind of role, which could be problematic. He did not like mentoring Rodgers in Green Bay. As a back up he would be under mining Romo until he got his chance to start. That did not happen with Brad Johnson and will not happen with Kitna. Neither guy is as good as Favre, but they won't make waves, either. That is pretty important, too.
