I am at the point now where I see very little reason to think anything is going to improve next season. Looks like the same coaches and players and everything else.

Yeah, I look at Romo, Witten, TO, Roy Williams, Barber, Felix Jones, DeMarcus Ware, Jay Ratliff, Terence Newman, etc. and think, how will we ever win a game?

Or, how in the hell haven't we won a PO game since these guys got here?

I can tell you part of the reason why we didn't last year. Of the 9 names I mentioned (the best players on the team), 6 of them either missed significant playing time due to injury or had their play seriously crippled by injuries.

And i bet you next season we will have injuries...but hey, then you have an already made excuse for next years collapse.

Yup, if we lose Romo for several games, lose our running backs, our top corner, or several other key injuries, we might be a game out of the playoffs.

That's life.

Yes, we were crippled by injuries, that's for sure. But those final games in 07 and 08 just leave a bad taste in my mouth. Just seems like we outplayed Seattle in 06, but found a way to lose, yet i was hopeful after that season. Then IMO, we didn't play quite as well last year againt the NYFG but were in the game and couldn't get it done, yet i feel we regressed from the 06 PO game. Then this year, not making the PO's in the manner in which we failed in Philthy, well, i see a downward trend. Add to that several of the players you listed had derogatory things to say about the way things get done at VR in the past few months. Call me glass is half empty.

Ok sunshines tell me why we should think wade will do better then this year?
Why would we think that the problems will just magically disapear?
With realisticaly NO CHANGE in players or coaches?

The situation isn't probably as dire as you might suggest, but do you see this team winning more than 9 games?

Guys, with the amount of talent we have, we'll win our fair share of games. Now of course injuries will affect that number somewhat, that's just part of the game.

The thing that has me :bang2: is this could be another dynasty in the making if we had the proper leadership to guide/lead us.

SO
.......here we sit, pining for a freaking playoff victory.......

The last playoff game we won was back in Jan 96 over the Vikes & we had the Triplets, etc; the Cowboys have also played poorly in December since then. It just doesn't seem to matter who our starting QB is since 96, we play poorly in December & lose in the playoffs. This is just a reality check for those who point out that even with Romo/Witten/TO/Ware/Newman, etc as our starters that we haven't won any playoff games. Now why in the world this team continues an unfortunate losing tradition needs be examined. Do we lose because in December/playoffs our team lacks the physical conditioning necessary late in the season or do they all just lose focus for a variety of reasons.

Normally I agree with you, but this year if we had just had a couple of average backup players(at QB/OL) this season could of been better than average, blame it on the coaches, owner, GM for not evaluating the talent behind the stars or journeymen. How Brad and Bollinger were looked at as adequate backups was the big story last season. Maybe the environment at the ranch does not allow different opinions other than the big dogs to be heard when discussing talent. We are pretty sure it is not rocket science to see the need of a decent backup QB and Ol. Fans can bank we never knew the real story as to why Holland never made it on the field earlier and to why Williams was not involved more in the offense. We can only evaluate with the information given us through the organization and the media so our views are bound to be skewed and lopsided. That being said it may not be as bad as it looks if we knew the truth at Valley Ranch. Some stern housekeeping could get this thing headed in the right direction again, hell with trying to cover you butt so you look good in the media. Go Cowboys

I do not understand this mentality.

Six months ago everyone thought we had the best team in the league and were going to the Super Bowl. Now all hope is lost? I would suggest we are a lot closer than all those "losing hope" think. We are still the same team we were before.

We got a new ST coach and that is significant, cuz you win/lose at least one game with your special teams every year.

Funny, that no one talks about McBriar's recovery or even the possiblity of drafting a punter this year...which could easily happen.

If two or three little things happened this team could be a true title contender.

Scenario 1: Jerry has coronary, lands in hospital. Son Stephen appoints Reeves GM. Team releases Owens. Drafts true safety and jitterbug receiver. Cowboys Win Superbowl.

Scenario 2: Jerry meets Jesus in alley. Hands football reigns to almost anyone willing to fire Owens. Drafts true safety and jitterbug receiver. Cowboys Win Superbowl.

Scenario 3: All 31 other teams die in plane crashes. Jerry's genius is validated. Cowboys Win Superbowl.

If we stay healthy, absolutely. I'd say at least 11 wins are likely if we're healthy.

It'll help once people see the schedule how easy we have it. A third place schedule and the AFC West is going to give us an excellent draw.

I think the lack of injuries in '07 led some to forget what the NFL really is like.

Almost every team has bunches of injuries. Odds are that next season the Cowboys will face just as many injuries as they had in '08. Probably more. There's a lot of players getting some age on them.

The Rams were supposed to be an easy win for Dallas this season, and yet we got blown out. THe Rams haven't won a single game since then.

Our schedule doesn't matter.
