youre late
go check the game day thread we lost by 5 and people were making those points you said
it was a full blown cowboyszone meltdown
The only difference in last night's game, and it wan't much, was that they played their starters three series against our backups. They scored one TD which came after we fumbled a punt and set them up with a very short field. During that time we also got an interception and a three and out. With our backups. Against their first team. Our backups took it right down the field after that and likely would have scored a TD if not for Dowdle's bad fumble. The rest of the game, when teams were playing their backups at the same time, the game was a push. Things we wanted to see we did. The receivers looked as advertised, as did the TE's. Vaughn was electric. On defense some of the guys we were hoping to see perform well did just that. Thomas at S, Clark and Overshown at LB. We saw Mazi get some action with some good and some that showed where he needs to improve (which fits exactly with his scouting report and his own personal comments). All in all, it wasn't a terrible performance. It was what you should have expected in a preseason game with no game planning. I am pretty sure we didn't do any blitzing, and on at least one occasion Jax sent the house with their first team that lead to a big sack on Rush.
The one big negative was the performance of our backup OL, which was something that many people expected. Our OL is a big concern, and our K is as well. We had an idea of that going in. I think the plan may be to give our young guys another game to show improvement, and if they don't then start looking at some older vets and/or possibly look to trade for some OL. We have 4 or 5 guys that have value that we could part with and still be in good shape.
